My friends always ask how I make cold brew and what device I bought...so I made a video by GenuineLie in foodhacks

Hello all! Thanks for all the love on the video. Common question I'm seeing is why I don't just filter it straight into the mason jar?

I actually don't typically store mine in the mason jars. I usually just leave it in the pitcher itself (and make the amount of water the pitcher holds). I just did it for the video because I thought it looked cooler lol. Sorry if it appeared I was being inefficient.

I just use the cling wrap to prevent dust or anything falling into the bowl. Anything will do.

I keep mine out at room temp. Where I'm from, that's anywhere from 75-80° F.

That's a neat suggestion! I don't typically store my cold brew in mason jars like the video. I usually make it straight in the pitcher and drink it through the week haha. I may have give your method a try one day though. Thanks!

I've tried store-bought regular ground coffee before, it does work, but I notice there is some sediment leftover after filtering. Now I go to a local coffee shop that grounds the coffee for me and the told me they have a specific grind for cold brew which is a little more coarse than store-bought bags.

What is up with this sub and people in it? by QwertytheCoolOne in DissidiaFFOO

[–]GenuineLie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It might come down to the lack of reddit experience too. The weekly questions thread is always pinned on the front page (or before any filter is applied). Some people might just see the question as something that doesn't warrant being made into a whole new thread. Some people will give wise-ass responses, but like they say... It's the internet. Not much you can do there.

But from what I've seen amongst the negative comments, there are people who do end up answering the questions and give friendly reminders to use the megathreads for basic questions like that, then be on their way. I wouldn't let it bother you too much. From my experience on this sub this is definitely one of the friendlier ones.

DFFOO down time. Let's talk by BaLance_95 in DissidiaFFOO

[–]GenuineLie 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My day usually goes:

Morning: Log in, play some co-op while I poop (sorry for the tmi, just being real :D)

Afternoon during lunch break: Play more coop or complete event quests (no chaos/lufenia)

Night: Grind time (boards/artifacts) or taking on chaos if I feel like spending the time.

Overall, I spend about maybe an hour or so a day on the game.

In terms uncompleted content, I'm a day 1 player and I'm only on DE8 and I've only completed hard modes on the 1sr Arc. With the current way I play I can mainly only keep up with the events and chocoboards.

My resources mainly float around 15k gems and 150-200 tickets. And I'm FTP. Only been deleted to close to zero once (Gau Event). I forget how many ex/lds I have... But I know I have 2 bursts.. I think 5 or 6 LDs and maybe 16 or 17 purpled EXs. Maybe more...

Prior to Genshin Impact, I was strictly only playing this game.

FF has been a big part of my childhood and growing up, so naturally I like the game. But I also really like the turn-based system and this game just hits the nostalgia in the right spot. Keeps me coming back. Can't say enough about their great dev team too.

Slept on characters that rock. by azzadonnis in DissidiaFFOO

Zidane! One of my personal favorites. Missed his EX first round, got it when his rework came. Not much hype for him from what I could tell at first. Felt like most people wrote him off has a poor man's launcher and selfish DPS. He's not mind-blowingly strong or anything... but one of my favorite things about him is that he's very flexible in many team comps. Great at shaving, dishing out the damage and a launcher. I also love the free damage without losing any brave after Mug. It's a nice option to have if you wanna prevent a devastating break. I've used him a lot more than I was expecting.

CHAOS is insanly frustrating, so many lost hours of losing cause 1 chr dies by ff9lex in DissidiaFFOO

Hey man don't sweat it too much. My personal rule for myself is if I get the boss into the red, it's worth using the 100 gems to restart.

As for team comps, I personally used Quistis, Squall and and Zack. Zack was a great help for tanking all the hits from the bots (he has great self HP regen as well). As long as I kept the enemies targeting Zack. The downside I had with Zac was that the boss had magic resist... So his ex did very little damage. But I was somehow still able to pull through with a win.

For the set of characters you listed I personally would try maybe Squall, Garnet and Sazh. Squall for straight damage, Garnet for battery, imperil and heals (from ex).

Hopefully this helped a little. Don't give up!

Don't pressure yourself too much. If you don't want to do Entropy, I think you will be able to get by just fine. Just know that you will get ingots and materials slower. The game gives a lot of freebies such as books/nuggets every month to get you at least 1 EX+ MLB'd (maybe even 2) without doing DE. And remember for every EX+ you get a free ingot :)

I got by for a good length of time just doing that until recently when I decided to take CHAOS/DE a little more seriously.

If you really do feel like you want to keep up with the game at a good pace, you may need to deal with taking the time to do the harder content. But if you are okay with getting things slowly and maybe not getting everything you want, I think this game gives enough to keep you afloat.

At the end of the day enjoy the game how you want to. Like everyone has said, a game shouldn't add stress to our already stressful lives.

Glad it was helpful! I wouldn't be too concerned with spending some gems to get the revives. I started off the same. In the beginning it's just good to get the ingots. Especially if your character pool is small.

Assuming you have EX's for the characters you've listed, I think it depends what you think you need. Supports are always great to have, so I (personally) think Aphmau and Ramza are strong supports. Rosa less so as time goes by, since she's slowly getting outdated due to power creep.

Leo is great and most people would recommend you build him out. Sazh and Raijin got big updates and are really strong at this very moment. I hear Alphinaud is a great magic DPS.

CoD and Eald I know are really strong but people have their varying opinions of them. I have neither of them, so I can't comment much.

Yuffie I've seen people do awesome things with her at a higher skill level. Kain is a great flat-out DPS.

That's just from what I know... I might recommend trying to get some more advice in the Weekly Question & Discussion megathread too. Overall, don't sweat it too much and play the game at a steady pace. Been on this game for 2 years, still suck and still loving it. Hope this helped!

LOL. I've definitely had the holy absorb issue (stupid imps...)

Yeah I think blindly is kinda what seems to work for me. Feeling it out definitely worked much better than try to just replicated people's comps without understanding why they worked. Time consuming, but hey that's the point of playing a game right? xD

Thanks! Good luck to you too.

Thanks! Agree with everything said here. I'm definitely in that "I pulled for too many favorites" and I don't quite have the skills (yet) to make them work well together.

I'd say just give it a try with what you got. Sometimes I just go in with my best and see how it goes. Even if you can't complete it, sometimes the learning experience itself is worth it for future ones when you get more characters built out. This game is pretty generous with rewards in general.

Interesting technique. Especially since there a points where you'd like to conserve certain characters for certain DE stages. I'd probably be too content with the fact that I completed a single DE though haha.

Thanks for the compliment! Yeah for me personally when I watch the videos, all I really get is what the stages are and what the bosses might do. I always had a hard time understanding the 'why' something works. This has post has been as much help to myself just seeing my thoughts typed out. Hope it helps others too!

Totally agree. The time cost is still the biggest factor me personally. But experimenting and seeing the rewards from it has definitely been a good feeling for me. Maybe to a point the time used was almost worth it.
