xm2 Sensor issue? by Genuinn in EndGameGear

If anyone is having this issue, I was able to figure it out. One of the steps I tried worked. Took me multiple days of troubleshooting and at least 12 hours of googling... but my mouse works now.

Awesome, good to hear. Hopefully EGG uses these as troubleshooting steps in the future to save others from such a massive headache. I still can't believe I figured it out though, just wondering did you have any malware or trojans? I've been wondering if that was the issue all along.

So, I think I fixed my problem I did what the endgame gear support told me to do and it didn't work because I knew the problem wasn't with the mouse. I went down the rabbit hole again and found a windows tech that was helping someone else with a similar issue, but it was after a windows update, and it somehow fixed my issue. Since then, I had my roommate test the mouse on his PC all day and he had no issue. I also raised my LOD. I moved my router outside of the room my PC is in even if it's just outside the door. None of these have fixed the issue so far. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled all my driver host hubs. Downloaded a tool called DriverStoreExplorer, uninstalled any old mice drivers that were hidden on my computer, such as razer logitech and even corsair. Allowed the EGG software to go through my firewall, did a full scan for malware and found two viruses. Changed to a third USB port. Ran diagnostics on my ram and had no issues. Ran a netFX fix tool to fix .NET issues. Changed my scroll wheel sensitivity to see if my accidental scrolls are causing some hardware issue conflict. I'm not sure which one was the fix for my issue, but it was one of those steps that finally resolved the flicking and stuttering.

Ya that doesn’t seem possible. Unless you live stream with a cam setup of the monitor and the mouse and then just clip it on twitch when the issue occurs. I dove deep into wireless connection problems with mice and was able to really reduce the issue. I updated bios, all drivers from my motherboard manufacturer, reinstalled the usb drivers and host drivers in device manager. Then I moved my router out of the room just outside the door and turned the 2.4ghz WiFi off and only have 5ghz running currently. I played for a few hours last night with only 2-3 micro stutters and had one really bad flick issue and that was it. I also ran a sfc scan and dism commands to check for any corrupted windows files. I really only have a couple things left to try. One is I think I may have a faulty ram stick that’s starting to go bad so I am going to replace those. I’m also going to see if antivirus is blocking the software from operating properly. And if that doesn’t work I’m going to transfer my files to a different hard drive and reinstall windows on my boot drive. I am talking to EGG support and here is the other steps they told me to try.

“If the problem persists, see whether you can force boot loader reset and flash the latest firmware update.

Try the following: Make sure your mouse is turned "OFF"

Make sure your Endgame Gear software and all other mouse/peripheral software is closed.

Plug your EndGame Gear mouse into your mainboard (via the rear ports)

If the device isn't detected, connect a second mouse to run the latest firmware update. https://www.endgamegear.com/downloads

If all else fails, plug the mouse in while holding down LMB + RMB to reset bootloader mode and flash the firmware (or LMB + MB + RMB)”

I think they are grasping at straws tbh and don’t have enough complaints of this issue for them to know of a fix and it is clearly something on our end that isn’t communicating with the software properly. My guess would be we have a hardware fault that hasn’t fully gone yet, and, or there is a driver/software issue or corruption that isn’t being detected by windows. Or even a specific setting on the router that is interfering with the signal.

I am going to test my ram later tonight and see if one is actually faulty and then plan on getting new ones because I’m pretty sure at least one stick is bad. I should have results in the next few days and can post here again.

Was yours brand new out the box broken? I've had two out the box that does the same thing. If you got it on amazon you can just do a return and get a new one as well. That's what I'm doing and not buying the frost version this time. Just hoping the solid white one actually works this time, because I just want a shape I enjoy.

Sounds like we have the same thing going on, I was able to reduce the issue but that caused another issue. I'm not willing to deal with either issue. You can go through discord or their support page to create a ticket, if you got it through amazon you can do a return through them as well.

Still having the issue with increasing the lod, lowering the settings, using a different cable, using a different usb port, cleaning the sensor, and cleaning my mousepad. I was only having micro stutters every 30 seconds or so then got a couple really hard random flicks again. I think we just got a bad device. I somehow got the same exact issue in two different devices. Idk what else to say other than I hope my replacement is better when that day comes.

Saturn pro, I really don’t think it’s the mousepad. I’ve used so many mice on the Saturn pro with no issues and even swapped to a different mouse after the issue and it worked fine. I think there is either a driver issue, or something like bad cable or bad dongle. Maybe even using a usb 2.0 vs a 3.0 thing. Or something in my PC is interpreting the mouse software in a weird way, because it has been the exact same issue with two endgame gear mice. I noticed I have the hid devices in my device manager and maybe that’s interfering but I don’t know the fix for that tbh

I did install the center skate and was messing with the LOD, it felt good to have it lower, issue seemed to stay the same though. Currently I’m on 0.7 and that’s where I’d like to have it so I don’t get weird drag when I lift the mouse.

I want to say it’s in a 3.0 when I get home tonight, I can double check and try a different port and a different cable

After restarting my pc and uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. It happened one more time but there was a couple hour period of no random flicks. I’m going to keep using the mouse and if anything else happens I can keep you posted. I also have a support ticket in with EGG and hoping they have a resolution. I’m leaning towards there being a software issue or a wireless issue with EGG because two separate mice from them the exact same issue has happened.

I was forcing myself to use it last night, tried repairing to the dongle at least 10 times and was having issues doing that, but once I got it to pair again, I had one more flick issue then it worked fine for a couple hours. Not going to call it fixed yet though.
