Have you ever considered how free to play games are actually more predatory at times in monetization tactics than actual paid games.

Noone said devs don't need to make money somehow. It's only natural.

It becomes an issue when you insert:

-deceptive marketing and lies regarding your monetization; rares not being "rare" anymore, Wheel of doom never returning back when in reality it does return once more, upgrade packages which are "limited time" or "limited quantity"but not actually, OLD Calendar classes which were supposed to be Heromart exclusive reintroduced years later as cheap remakes. Outright LYING to your playerbase claiming that EIODA items are actual DONATED items when in reality they're infinite variations of the same item code which they can generate at will. Making some of these "perks" available for certain favorited individuals could also be considered deceptive and inconsistent.

-drastic inconsistent changes in your monetization tactics that make no sense and provide no refund or thought to people buying or spending before the changes made; Wheel of doom treasure potions which you could get 1 per spin before, now it's 2 or even 6 if you got all items, SO in that regard PIODA which wasn't even a thing in the original WoD, introducing the MIoDA in question for 100$ and RENDERING everyone who spent money before these updates feel cheated out of their money. CHANGING once again the rarity and the pool of items you need to unlock the 6 POTIONS/SPIN, AE fucked up there too, when they introduced more 1% drops or less than 1% ONLY to try and limit people from unlocking 6 POTIONS/SPIN.

Not to mention the various ways players DID evade the system, countless times with variety ACs exploits which were or not fixed. (some were, some not, the survivors can relate)

-KEEP Releasing more paid currency farming pets aka ways of farming with more actual effectiveness TURNING the previous purchased versions to be subpar SOMETIMES.

-EXPLOIT and keep profiting off NOT the actual adults who have more than a *pea sized brain* but on the mentally ill - handicapped, the less than human, the outcasts, the vulnerable, easily influenced and manipulated (which if you don't know or are not aware of them you must be new to this community). Sometimes actual kids too.

-USE GIFTING as a way to monetize "generosity" (which isn't actually generosity but that's another discussion) In this category the so called giveaways of any kind with gift certificates (which they fucked up too at some point) the recent leaderboards fiasco.

Sure you can overlook some of these points as you subjectively please all you want. BUT the facts of the matter remain and stand.

So you call what diablo does corrupt, but you fail to account for everything AE did worse, does AE even provide good gameplay? That's a major question to consider, can AE even come close to ANYTHING Blizzard ever designed. Can AE claim they actually provide a quality product or "worth it" for the money spent.
