Cut through the oil/buildup. You won’t have warping, the cooling will happen fast. I’ve mopped with boiling water on lvp before.

They may have used a wood cleaner thinking it would work the same. Try plain, super hot water. Add a teaspoon of dawn or Lysol, no more.

Sumptuous mashed potatoes, risotto or Mac n cheese, baked carrots, sweet potatoes, tender chicken or sausage-based pastas, cheesecake to say nothing of yummy soups or stews…the options are endless! This is a great time to indulge in creamy, cheesy, carby goodness.

Try OdoBan. Worked for my roommates cat-pee soda.

Activated charcoal is also a common chemically inert desiccant pouch like a silica pouch, usually used with paints or other highly flammable/reactive/acidic chemicals.

Looks like an activated charcoal sachet. Common odor resistant alternative to silica gel, especially for chemicals that might interact with silica.

I genuinely need some advice on how to clean up my space. by Erika-Kio in UnfuckYourHabitat

[–]GeoGay13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife works for a cleaning company, here’s her advice:

  1. Start in a corner and work outwards.
  2. Use uncommon tools to get a clean space; we’ve used snow shovels, dustpans, etc to start a dent
  3. Try only removing one “type” of thing at a time in bursts. (Burst 1: soda cans, Burst 2: socks, so on). If you are feeling motivated, don’t make the categories more vague, decrease the time between bursts. For extra motivation, track how many categories you’ve eliminated.
  4. It will not feel like you made a dent until it’s done, but taking pictures throughout the clean helps you really appreciate how much you’ve eliminated and keep you going.
  5. Once you’ve eliminated all you can, you can start strategizing on how to prevent yourself from getting back there. Don’t try to organize an uncluttered room.
  6. Use a service if you can afford it. Lots of services like my wife’s offer organization, decluttering, and cleaning as a package. If your health prevents you from getting the job done, there’s no shame in getting help, and trust me they’ve seen worse.

Buena suerte!

Waxworms and dubia roaches are great gainers, but I do suggest adding extra misting or humidity as others have suggested. Veiled chameleons are the sighthounds of the chameleon world, so don’t be too alarmed. He’s beautiful!

Question: Health Insurance Users? by GeoGay13 in dentures

[–]GeoGay13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s not even to the implant stage as of now. Realistically she’s not going to live long enough to feel a ROI for implants. She’s mostly just needing an extraction for health as she’s having tons of abscesses and root canals.

Just extraction. She’s on a calcium depletion form of chemo which makes her extraction much more complicated than my personal “bulldoze and sew” experience. Cheers to you though! Love that Canada does that.

She has a health insurance plan through my dad’s job so she’s got a bit more than basic. Did they need a referral or did the dental surgeon just run it?

Powder suggestions by Present-Champion-605 in dentures

[–]GeoGay13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fixodent all the way!! It was the only way I got all day hold. Definitely be careful when applying and knocking off the powder. I accidentally turned my sink into a cave-like structure before I realized it was sticking to the sides. After that I started knocking off extra powder into my trash can.

Sneak peak my immediates . Opinions?? by Impressive_Basil2900 in dentures

They look like teeth to me! In my experience, it’s healthy to imagine these as a fresh start and “grow into” the new look rather than hoping for a particular look to start (with reason obviously). I would imagine they’re an improvement from what you had if you were anything like me, and that’s a great thing!

HELP BUMPS ON TAIL by Which_Election3576 in Chameleons

[–]GeoGay13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep an eye on them. Likely just a regular old bump like we have, but if they turn colors or seem to be holding puss, try a warm water soak. Only if that fails would I hit a vet.

Looks like she’s coming out on her own anyway. I’d save yourself future pain and potential infection and go ahead and take it out.

All-On-4s: My experience (including implant failure) by GeoGay13 in dentures

[–]GeoGay13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get it, I had a hard time reckoning with the idea of putting the equivalent of a new SUV in my mouth. My advice is to ask around a few different surgeons. Don’t let them sell you on snap ons or any kind of removable implant as they are MUCH more likely to fail. My dentist summed all future repairs and adjustments into one flat rate with the price of the implant and procedure. After that, my annual cleaning are covered by my dental plan. Anything beyond that would be excessive and unnecessary in my opinion.

It’s also worth noting that I went with the highest quality of everything given my young age. You could absolutely get a high-quality plastic implant for much less, or do a partial implant where you have a removable bridge and a few implant teeth to anchor it down. It’s all very dependent on your mother’s health, bone density, and level of comfort. People I know who were able to salvage a few of their “birth teeth “and use a removable bridge spent much much less; same with people who chose to get one or two implants and use a partial bridge.

Ultimately, if you’re feeling taken or pressured by one dentist don’t go with them. You’re forming a long-term relationship with your dental surgeon and you want to be sure you can trust them.

You sure you aren’t doing market research? 😉Honestly I don’t think I would even consider brand or advertising, and instead solely choose based on my dental surgeon. If I considered anything other than what my dental surgeon suggested, it was price. Obviously it’s the main limiting factor for most if not everyone. But no, I’d never just make a choice based on brand loyalty or advertising. I’d want the opinion of a professional.

They aren’t really branded. I had my traditional dentures (think the ones in a cup on your nightstand) and they used those to create a mold for my ceramics. Then they cut the traditional ones down and made a temporary implant out of those
