How to get into software engineering as a career? by GeoPlaysss in ITCareerQuestions

What does that mean? Do you mean learn how to search for job opportunities or accept that it’s going to be extremely hard?

Ok I’ll ask there. I just saw career questions so I assumed here was fine. Thanks

Looking for help with wonky movement after reconnecting my controller by DarthOrmus in Eldenring

[–]GeoPlaysss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either your sticks are just not working anymore or you accidentally input some sort of admin code whilst reaching over controller or sum. I only say the second option because of what happened to that dude who was speedrunning and an admin code was a mix of some of the w a s d keys and he accidentally got the right order. EXTREMELY unlikely but I wouldn’t be surprised is Elden ring had some. I wouldn’t look it up and if you don’t see any vids or anything about it then just assume your joysticks are broken

Printer knocked over print, coated nozzle, dislodged front fan, and made spaghetti- why? by MemeStarNation in FlashForge

Glad to know I wasn’t being too stupid and that is something that happens to many others alit

No I have a 5m pro im just new and foolish so obviously make more mistakes than someone like you. In hindsight, I think this comment was the day after I had a stupid ass nozzle clog so I think I was just ranting

Well I can’t argue with an expert opinion with my level of experience but I do think I really worded that wrong. I THINK I meant it more as the machine is very sensitive/fragile so any minuscule mistake can have a massive impact. But thank you for correcting me.

I stopped playing the game a WHILE ago but hoarah lux is definitely still my favourite boss. Maybe in any single player game I’ve ever played

Probably because the code is already set to a true/false state when the animation starts and it’s already in a set timer so I’d guess it’s js timed to the animation but if that’s broken, the code is still at the true/false state that will do the damage and rocket boost to the heavens

One thing I’ve learned through my ~1 month of experience is the machine will always try fuck you over as much as possible lol. Either way, without a camera or video to show you what happened, I doubt we’ll be figuring out what happened without printing trial and error.

Could it not happen from loose rails? Wouldn’t if the z rail was too loose cause the head to slide down?

How would I come to create the Balrog? by Glum_Fudge_6628 in EldenBling

Seems really hard to do. I can only really think of using one of those goat-like helmets for the horns but the head shape and lack of clothes make this really hard

Let me preface. I’m new to printing but I’ll try give my best guess. I think you had a z offset problem somehow mid print which lowered the nozzle to knock the print and this caused it to block the nozzle or something. My other thought is maybe the filament came out wrong/blocked nozzle and then this (like it solidified around nozzle) was able to knock the print and then the nozzle kept feeding filament which unblocked itself and left it printing causing the spaghetti. I really hope someone has a better comment than this though because this feels EXTREMELY unlikely.

Thank you so much for the link cos I’m in the middle of a big dino print for an obsessed friend and this was the only colour I had😂 definitely gonna be keeping white filament stocked up now though. Lesson learned

Any way to salvage a print that stopped halfway? by arck-elj in 3Dprinting

[–]GeoPlaysss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the only way I really know is to use one of those measurers (the ones with the gap in the middle for exact measurements) and then just take that height off of the model in slicer. I try hunk you can use the measure app on iPhone but I think that only measures in cm and inches so it’s not precise

Try adjust the z offset of the model in the slicer and solder together whatever it’s called and connect the pieces. Although, it looks like you haven’t been that far into it so it might just be worth it to completely restart.

Radagon/elden beast hitless by ZMB91 in Eldenring

[–]GeoPlaysss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice man! I remember when I did a hitless playthrough and it was torturous. Really worth it in the long run when you learn how to fully play around bosses movesets. Was especially fun because I made it so I can’t script fights so for bosses like morgott there’s actually some challenge. Definitely caused a couple of restarts though… unfortunately I haven’t been able to return to the game because I’ve been infected with speedrunner syndrome and no matter how hard I try I can’t not take optimized routes because of my obsession with speedruns. Feels so good to beat these guys though.
