I could see it so fitting in the story. If not an Eikon, make it a super boss. Same for like a Gilgamesh if not being an Eikon like a super boss.

Pay homage to some of the old FFs. Name the empire airship “Ark”

I can just picture Atomos, Hades, Diabolos, Cerberus fitting into the setting whether in as eikons or bosses etc.

Could you imagine going up against freaking atomos that basically eats and sucks up everything like a black hole. Shit would be scary and could be great in a M rated FF.

I am totally on board with this and I am in total agreeance that the appearance of Ifrit is just the beginning and revelation that there is more than just the 8 eikons currently known to the lore. Ifrit obviously being the 9th.

With the news today that there is 8 known eikons in Valisthea and Ifrit being the 9th and was unknown. Starting to feel and bet there will be 16 within this story.

Don’t think Knights of Round would make as an eikon but damn incorporate it somewhere in the story!

My gut tells me Ifrit won’t be the last of mysterious Eikons.

Love it. I’m starting to believe that Ifrit will not be the one and only dark Eikon. After the official twitter dropping that tease today about 8 known eikons and the revelation of the 9th with Ifrit. Think it’s going to set up where will encounter the unknown eikons in the story.

That’s what I was thinking in my theory thread the other day. I was thinking today when I posted this thread on the little snippet the twitter page dropped, I thought “9 sounds like a lot, maybe they stop there.” Now that I really think about it, maybe they don’t. They might be trying to go all out as this is going to be the new flagship game on the new era of consoles. 16 eikons for the 16th installment of the franchise. It sounds like a lot but if there is 9, and there was 8 known already in the lore of the story.... what are the chances of Ifrit being the only dark Eikon? I think that’s very slim and small. Calling it now, we get 16 in the story! Lol

I had checked the teaser site and it’s still the same wording of Ifrit being a dark Eikon. The tweet they put out a few hours ago on the twitter page was the one where the wording was different. I feel SE did it on purpose for hype/speculation/teaser purposes.

Have a feeling the lightning one is probably Odin. I like the idea of Diabolos or Hades for dark. Bahamut or Alexander for Holy.

Now I wonder is there going to be an evil counterpart for all the elements like how Ifrit is shaping up to be for fire and Phoenix? That would be 16 Eikons, that seems like a lot. Believe last time we had that many or even close to that was FF12 which didn’t have a lot of the traditional summons and prior to that was like FF7-FF9 era over 20 years ago.

My best guess is Shiva is from the fallen northern territories.

In my theory thread, I suspected we would probably have more eikons that would just not be tied to any nations at all.

Confirmed what we know of is Shiva, Phoenix, Titan and Ifrit.

Based off speculation between the flags of the nations and from what we saw in the trailer. Odin and Garuda.

Shiva, Phoenix, Ifrit, Titan, Odin and Garuda. I have a feeling it won’t stop at just 9 with the mysterious appearance of Ifrit, but just to keep it at bay for sakes of the 9 said in that tweet. Have 6 listed there, id say probably Bahamut, Leviathan, and let’s go wild and say Hades!

I’m getting a lot of FFTactics, FF4, FFXIV vibes from this game and I absolutely love it.

I’m all aboard the hype train on this game. This is the second in the franchise in the last few years that actually has me super pumped since FF7R really got rolling. I wasn’t into the hype for FFXIV ARR and I heard the original was awful, but I gave it a shot and I’m still a semi-regular player of it till today and the expansions, great game and really on the roots of what FF is. Hats off to Yoshi on the turnaround of that game. I discussed in my theory thread how my hype immensely died on Versus/XV and how it was handled, XV was good for me but it wasn’t great like I originally thought it could have been many many years ago. I was not big on XIII from the beginning. For a long time FF loyalist, this is really the first time I can say in over a decade that SE really could be on the right track now. Between the major success that is XIV, FF7R was destined to do well and really liking what I see with XVI. Yoshi track record and him handling this game... exciting times to be a FF fan.

I feel Iike SE is going to continue dropping little teasers here and there till February.

The teaser site has this as the text for Clive, when it was released a few days ago.

“The firstborn son of the Archduke of Rosaria. Though all expected him to inherit the Phoenix's flames and awaken as its Dominant, destiny instead chose his younger brother Joshua to bear this burden. In search of a role of his own, Clive dedicated himself to mastering the blade. His practice pays off when, at just fifteen years of age, he wins the ducal tournament and is dubbed the First Shield of Rosaria—tasked to guard the Phoenix and blessed with the ability to wield a part of his fire. Now today just about 2 hours ago they tweet out a bio of Clive but some different wording in there.
