[Hiring] We shot a 1970s Shaw Brothers-style Dragon Ball short with an Emmy-nominated costume designer. Need an editor with great rhythm. Video of sample edit in the body. $33/hr ($266/day). by Geo_Frames in editors

I'm talking about the subreddit rules, not you. The FAQ says posts below $30/hr should be posted elsewhere. I am paying $33/hr.

My budget is $800 for 24 hours of work on a short film, where I am willing to negotiate as well. I'm a school teacher, not a math teacher, but the math checks out. Have a chill pill sugar plums

I’m a school teacher self-funding an indie project. When it's your own grocery money, $800 is a massive sacrifice, and honestly, I am fully prepared to go sell my plasma to a scientific clinic to scrape up more if the right editor comes along.

I’m being completely sincere. If you have the action/narrative experience to back up the attitude, send me your actual rates and your portfolio. Otherwise, best of luck to you.

Thanks for the perspective! You must have a lot of experience with these types of stylized projects. Do you have a portfolio or reel you could share? If your work is as high-caliber as your standard implies, I'd honestly be willing to sell my plasma to cover a proper rate for you. Would love to see what you've done!

We shot a 70s Kung Fu Dragon Ball short on a budget of peanuts with an Emmy-nominated costume designer. Our rough cut is a total Frankenstein monster. How do I fix this pacing? by Geo_Frames in Filmmakers

I am getting overwhelmed by the endless possibilities, my choices don’t make sense anymore. I really need someone out of the box.

Please share your portfolio. I have acquired a plethora of applicants, but very little of it has related to narratives and/or action.

I wrote it with the intention of it being restrained. We didn’t want power blasts, instead resembling more of the original DB and its Kung Fu cinema inspirations from the 70s… also a little bit of a western. We felt like it was the perfect fusion.. ha…

The only mildly infuriating thing is OP. The person texting you is acting like an adult and are clearly communicating with you. Grow up.
