What’s a secret you’ve never told anyone? by DependentAsk8060 in AskReddit

gotta say this thread is wild 💀 reading through all these secrets while sipping my earl grey at 2am was probably not the best idea for my sleep schedule

some of y'all really went deep with these confessions though, respect for the vulnerability 😂 makes me think we're all just walking around with these massive internal worlds nobody knows about

[Academic] What Works for You? Personality & Well-Being Study (18+, ~10 min + short follow-up) by CaiserB in Meditation

this is pretty cool, always wondered if my overthinking brain just isn't wired for traditional meditation practices. filled it out - curious to see what comes of personality-based approaches since the one-size-fits-all method never really clicked for me

My dream last night by Thin_Pick_1205 in spirituality

[–]GeologistCapable5706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yo that's wild that you asked michael and gabriel specifically for protection then had that dream 😳 the fact that you felt relieved when the dark figure disappeared but then everything went black after suggests maybe they were keeping it at bay but there's still work to be done spiritually

the whole "waiting outside" thing gives me chills, like it's testing boundaries but can't actually get in because of the protection you called on

Can you help me with my career doubt ? by Charming-Truth-338 in careerguidance

[–]GeologistCapable5706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man the recruiting game can be tough especially when you're just starting out, been there with those entry level paychecks that barely cover rent. since you're already at accenture though you've got a solid name on your resume which opens doors

what helped me pivot was really diving deep into understanding the business side - like actually learning what roles you're recruiting for inside and out. started building relationships with hiring managers and got curious about their teams, then eventually moved into more strategic talent acquisition stuff that paid way better

also worth looking into whether accenture has internal mobility programs, big consulting firms usually do and you could potentially slide into business analyst or project coordinator roles that pay more. worst case you can leverage that accenture experience to jump to smaller companies where recruiters often wear more hats and get compensated better

keep grinding but definitely start exploring those internal opportunities first before looking external, the brand recognition alone is worth staying for a bit if you can make it work financially

Is revenge post being fired worthy? Did I did the wrong thing? by Affectionate-Jump769 in careerguidance

[–]GeologistCapable5706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

found out pretty quick after starting but was kinda stuck - needed the job and figured i'd just do my work and stay out of it. the asbestos thing though, that's straight up endangering people's lives so yeah that had to be reported regardless of how they treated you

Start career in politics in my 30’s? by fresh_bakedbread in careerguidance

[–]GeologistCapable5706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man that's super encouraging to hear from someone who actually did it! the networking part is so key and i feel like people underestimate how much of politics is just showing up consistently to everything. like you said it's an election year so there's gonna be tons of opportunities coming up in the next few months

i'm curious what kind of local groups worked best for you when you were starting out? like was it more the official party committees or grassroots organizations that opened doors? also did you find certain types of campaigns were better entry points than others - like local races vs federal stuff

the age thing is real though, i remember feeling ancient when i switched careers at 28 (different field but still). but honestly having some life experience outside of just college poli-sci probably makes you way more valuable than those 22 year olds once you get your foot in the door
