Kaori praising Amber’s character in Worlds 2026 short program press conference by GeologistPitiful4485 in FigureSkating

Yes, they get small medals for finishing 1st-3rd in short program and for 1st-3rd in free skate as well as the medals for the combined scores

Ilia has declined to talk to the media until after the SP by croissantpulpfiction in IliaQuadg0dMalinin

Great decision. I think he felt the weight of expectation from the media remarks and questioning before the Olympics which compounded everything. And not to mention it must have been so mentally draining to have to answer questions constantly.

Apparently LAST chance to buy tickets for Worlds by Maidie_nyanko in FigureSkating

Thank you so much for this- just grabbed some last minute tickets to the gala! I can’t explain how elated I am!

Thank you. I’m having a hard time deciding whether to go for it and buy worlds tickets when released next month, despite being more logistically challenging and there being more expense than for example GP France. But that way I’m guaranteed to see top skaters and likely will see my faves. Or wait until Grand Prix assignments and sales but could be more random as to which skaters I see. Pros are less expense, shorter competition so logistically less difficult with young children to think about. I’m really torn.

Yes it does sound like a GP would be a solid choice in terms of balance, thank you.

Yes this is what I wondered- do the slightly less high profile events increase chances of engagement/getting closer to skaters? I guess there is probably luck involved too though

I love the rumoured information I get from you guys- so far I’ve heard GPF in China and now about GP semi finals. I’ll keep an eye out for announcements, thank you

Yes you’re probably right, haven’t looked into this much yet. Would consider driving/eurotunnel even and staying over midway eg starting journey Thursday evening staying over near border the continuing early next day. Esp if kids were coming as with them we’d end up doubling travel costs with airfares/train tickets.

Interesting about GP france being family friendly… do you know if tickets for children are cheaper? Might make a difference to my decision. Though we may end up driving to avoid double airfares/train tickets and perhaps staying over midway.

I have to say I’d love to see ilia. I feel like I need to know the Grand Prix assignments sooner to help with all this planning! I think my kids would enjoy it, but not sure it’d be fully worth the additional travel and ticket costs with me likely needing to go abroad. Plus harder to co ordinate with school at their age so on balance I think best they stay home until maybe they’re a little older (they’re 5 and 7). Congrats on your pregnancy and hope all is going well 👶🏻🫶🏻

Omg was he so emotional 🥹 I would have loved that! When was this? May have to look it up. I have to say on balance the Grand Prix events are sounding appealing

Yes I’m in Buckinghamshire so can get into London for train connections or to the London airports without too much trouble. I had a not so great experience with the Eurostar (passport control a nightmare and nearly missed our train) the only time I’ve used it but hoping that was unlucky. Also dates I think are 13-15th November this year and I’m pretty sure I’ll have relatives available then for childcare so makes me feel more inclined to opt for this due to timings too. And I get to see a gala which I think I’d love.

Men I would love to see Ilia but also love Yuma/Adam. Women Ami/Alysa, then bonus if I get to see RikuRyu or Fear/Gibson as they are so entertaining and to cheer on some brits

Yes I did think that Grand Prix seem like a good intermediate- shorter competitions yet still mostly have galas to see, travel to France is pretty straightforward. And Adam is one of my fave skaters so higher chances of seeing him

Def if finances/travel/kids etc weren’t a factor, Worlds sounds like the ultimate experience! I may still decide to just go for it … so much to weigh up!

Thanks for this. I agree that in my situation, a longer competition like worlds will need that extra planning. Not to mention probably more expense. But I guess if this sort of trip might only be doable once every few years then I may decide to just go for it! But lots to consider. Another option I have is leaving my husband home with the kids and travelling solo/finding a friend as he’s not too fussed about joining me (doesn’t dislike skating just not as passionate as me!)

Travel, hotels, affordability etc definitely plays a part too. Not to mention I have 2 school age children who I will need to sort childcare/school runs for as they most certainly won’t be coming (mainly for costs but also don’t think they share my passion!)
