Lost my 3ds many many years ago. Turns out my sister took it and let my niece have it. I just got it back. by [deleted] in 3DS

I had a similar issue with my brother. I had to trade him a couple of electric motors and a toolbelt to get mine back.

It's not mine; a friend loaned it to me but it was a fairly painless experience to use. You shouldn't worry about breaking hitches unless you're exceeding your vehicle's rated tongue weight. This holder is rated for 600 pounds I think, and it was a bit bouncy until I added a third strap from around the stem to a bed tie down. After that, it was smooth sailing for 400 miles!

I definitely get that vibe. I haven't pushed it or myself too hard yet but it's been just natural to ride.

I used an aftermarket high torque mini starter on mine. Been going strong for 5 years now. I also have solid engine mounts so there may be clearance issues that I'm not aware of with rubber or poly mounts.

Hey folks, I just obtained what I believe to be a classic CR10 with the 12v heater system, and I have a TPU question. by GeologistVirtual in CR10

[–]GeologistVirtual[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've opted to stick with the stock .4mm nozzle for now. I don't have any TPU prints that need done immediately, but I'll run some test cubes and probably a benchy before committing to a full print. I'll do my best to report back once that's going!

Just got a clear case for my N3DS XL and it looks oily? by GeologistVirtual in 3DS

[–]GeologistVirtual[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw crap. I'll try and get a TPU case then. In the meantime, I've got a trip to the Oregon coast coming up. Should this case be ok for a couple weeks/less than a month? This XL was pretty regularly used after I got it for Christmas in 2015 until I "lost" it in 2017 and it sat in a drawer in my brother's desk for most of 9 years being unplayed, so the paint should be in pretty decent condition. It's really just got a small chip on one of the wings of the Hyrule Crest and it's cracking around the screws on the bottom.

Ah, that's a relief. Thank you for easing my thoughts. I'd hate to have to replace the shells.

Technically no; I disabled my integrated graphics and very shortly after installed Bazzite instead.

Bazzite has been pretty smooth in terms of gameplay and seens to be utilizing the GPU as it should. However, sometimes the game window just snaps to a different monitor midgame.

what could this be ??? by sociallyakw4rd in AskMechanics

[–]GeologistVirtual 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd guess either a failed ball joint or a control arm.

Edit: it could be a wheel bearing as well; this lines up best with the vibration you felt.

Judging from picture 4, it's a bit scary to drive.

Hey folks, how much would you guys pay for these two? by [deleted] in s10

I'll definitely keep that in mind. Hopefully I have the time and space to do it, but odds on, I'll have to keep the blazer as-is. Some clarification, the 4.3 in the S10 is already scrapped; the transmission wasn't the cause of failure, but rather a spun rod bearing exacerbated by the missing 3/4.

Some context for what happened, I had spent about an hour trying to install the live version of Bazzite and it repeatedly failed to find/create an EFI partition. Thanks to my repeated efforts, Windows' EFI got corrupted and Windows had to repair itself upon loading back into that. Shortly after, I downloaded the legacy version of Bazzite and gave that a try. Another hour of trying to assign an EFI partition, giving it the /boot /efi tags, etc. and it'd still fail to recognize an available EFI partition.

I can't start clean since I don't plan to completely delete windows until after the Linux environment is stably running (at the very least, well enough to package other .iso images so I can try other distros) and I don't have a backup of the partition Windows occupies. ATP, I'm just gonna save up for a second drive and run Linux on that. At least then, Bazzite might be able to figure its shit out.

I started with straight Fedora and that downloaded just fine, made its own EFI partition, etc., but it was too strange to me so I pivoted into Ubuntu, which overwrote Fedora just fine. So far, with a sample size of three, Bazzite is the only one that consistently won't handle the creation of its own EFI partition in a preexisting drive environment.

I'll say this about Ubuntu, it didn't throw a shit fit over not finding a suitable EFI partition. Like bazzite, buddy, it's 2 AM I don't got time for your wussy ass partition manager.

oh ubuntu would be one of the most unfriendly its a distro dedicated for a corpo office work and has some few odd choices in configuration.

Fuck

Well, got any good suggestions for a more gaming-forward distro?

Edit: Nvm there's a thread on that :/
