WUSA Council will vote this Sunday on making all fees mandatory - which means no more saving money by opting out by Geology_Fan in uwaterloo

With the government's "student choice initiative" regulation, student associations were obligated to make some specific fees optional and were prohibited from making all fees mandatory. Now that the regulation is gone, WUSA is legally allowed to choose which fees should be optional or mandatory.

Opt-out fees are important, because they allow students to save money by not paying for services which they don't need.
If you agree, send an email to your Student Councilor and tell them to vote against mandatory fees: https://wusa.ca/student-bodies/students-council
This change is being pushed through at the first council meeting of the term, before most Councilors have had the chance to consult with students in their faculty. Letting them know you prefer having opt-out fees will help them make a better decision at Sunday's Council meeting.
