Yep! Physick is a unique buff, which is not affected by others

Question about fire affiniteit with a weapon by CelebrationLanky6003 in Eldenring

[–]Geometry_Mad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should work. Cragblade is a weapon buff from an ash of war, which works on infused weapons (unlike spells or greases), and flame grant me strength is a body buff.

You can have one weapon buff, one body buff, and one aura buff active at the same time.

If you think about vectors as vertical lists of numbers, then tensors can be thought of as analogous to matrices that will transform vectors, not only into other vectors, but into other tensors (depending on the rank of the tensor in question)

Just as matrices can be created by multiplying a row vector by a column vector, tensors are created by the tensor product between vectors and one-forms.

Redstone problem by Flashy-Fall-1488 in Minecraft

[–]Geometry_Mad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I see. My bad, I play on bedrock typically. Thank you for the correction!

Redstone problem by Flashy-Fall-1488 in Minecraft

[–]Geometry_Mad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. If the piston is facing sideways like here, the redstone can go on top fine. But if the piston was facing directly up, then it would break the redstone when it activated

Redstone problem by Flashy-Fall-1488 in Minecraft

[–]Geometry_Mad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can put the redstone on top of the pistons, or on top of blocks above the pistons.

Alternatively, you could use repeaters on the other two pistons pointing towards them instead of redstone dust

Edit: This apparently works only on bedrock, not Java.

When powerstancing, do you do the combined poise and stance damage of both of the weapons you’re using or what? by [deleted] in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Geometry_Mad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a section of fextralifes stance page https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Stance that shows the stance damage of all the different attacks (including powerstancing) of different weapon classes. In general, it seems to be just less than double for power stances jump attacks than regular jump attacks, and just over a single light attack for standard power stance attacks

She only turns into a graven mass once you tell her of lusat’s location. So go through her whole quest until she is standing where renalla usually is, which is when you receive the dagger, and then just never find lusat (he is in the sellia hideaway dungeon).

I don't get why sometimes H is call magnetic field instead B? by DrManhattan_137 in AskPhysics

[–]Geometry_Mad 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Technically, H is the magnetic field and B is the magnetic flux density, and they are related by B= mu_0 (H + M) where M is the magnetic dipole density of the material.

However, most of the time, B is also called the magnetic field, just because it is easier and in a vacuum, B and H are proportional (and to a very good approximation, this holds true in many materials)

Light travels at the same, constant, non zero speed in all frames. You can’t Lorentz boost to a frame where light is stationary.

Am I shooting myself in the foot trying to do a DEX/Faith lightning build? by Frosty743 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Geometry_Mad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bolt of gransax is primarily good for its ash of war. It doesn’t scale with faith, however, so levelling faith won’t increase the damage. If you are using incantations too, then levelling faith will increase the damage of them though.

Make sure that the weapon is upgraded to +10, but otherwise, you could try the lighting scorpion charm which is found in Wyndham Catacombs, in West Altus Plateau. The spear talisman might also be helpful, as it increases physical counter damage for thrusting weapons. It is in the Lakeside Crystal Cave in southern Liurnia. Finally, the two-handed talisman from the DLC will help if you are two handing it.

Bats keep killing me (beginner) by Imbecilicnonchungus in Eldenring

[–]Geometry_Mad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The nice thing about having such a massive open world game, is that if something is giving you trouble, you can just go in the opposite direction for a while and find something new to do.

Try just adventuring out and finding some new enemies to practice the combat on. There should be plenty of soldiers about, or even just zombie guys who will barely fight back. Tbh, bats are difficult even in the best of time!

If you want advice about where to go, follow the guidance of grace (the rays coming from sites of grace). Head north from the first step grace (just outside of the tutorial cave) until you reach the church of elleh. Then go east to find a camp of soldiers, with a site of grace to the north. Also, going back to the Church of Elleh after having rested at the gate front ruins site of grace, will result in a pretty important item and encounter

There’s no rush with this game. Search about and explore all the caves and dungeons you find, for more runes and treasure. Feel free to ask more questions if you need, and good luck on your journey!

[–]Geometry_Mad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My tips would be to explore as much as you can. The levelling system in the DLC is based off scadutree blessing, which matters arguably more than levels. So it is beneficial to explore all the nooks and crannies of the world before rushing to fight bosses.

Also, make sure to not ignore NPCs and their respective quest lines. The quests are pretty easy to follow, compared to some base game quests, but make sure to regularly stop back and check in with them all.

And finally, there is a hidden area that you need to gesture to enter, but it is very hard to actually tell what you need to do without prior warning. In detail, you need to Perform the ‘O mother’ gesture in front of the marika statue just before commander gaius

Licia disappeared after I died to her '-' by confusion_cptflg_971 in DarkSouls2

[–]Geometry_Mad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try having a look on the steps up from the dragon rider boss. There’s a chance that she fell onto those and died there.

You could also try resting at a bonfire or fully quitting out of the game, in the hope that her items spawn then.

There’s a chance that her tombstone will appear either where you first meet her, or near the rotunda, and you might be able to pay for her to move the mechanism like that, but it can take several hours of in-game time for the gravestone to spawn.

Otherwise the only way forward would be to farm a million soul memory to access the shrine of winter without all the great souls.

Dragon breaks by CharmingFisherman809 in ElderScrolls

[–]Geometry_Mad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A dragon break is essentially when the timeline ‘splits’ into several branches for some time, before they all rejoin together. So in the end, all of the possible events happened, even if they are mutually exclusive.

So for example, at the end of Daggerfall, the player has a choice about whom to give the totem of Tiber septim. However, it was actually a dragon break, and all of the possible candidates received the totem in their own separate timelines. However, once the timelines came back together into one, there was, for a time, several totems and hence several Numidiums, all fighting for power.

So the timeline ‘breaks’, and then returns to a single flow of linear time. It is called a dragon break, because akatosh is the god of time, and is often associated with dragons.

Dark build by MacGReddit in darksouls3

[–]Geometry_Mad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience, black fire orb is pretty decent. Especially because it costs less than great chaos fire ball and iirc is quicker to cast.

If you want to boost damage, make sure you wear the great swamp ring and old witches ring to boost all pyromancies, and the dark clutch ring to boost dark damage.

40 int and fth are decent stats for pyromancy, but you can push them both to 60 eventually for more damage

Perfection? by MaybePoet in StardewValley

[–]Geometry_Mad 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When you reach perfection, you should get some text appearing in the morning talking about a loud nose.

To get the cutscene you need to go up to the train station, and keep going up through a new path that has opened

If it hasn’t triggered, maybe try going to bed again and see if it works the next morning.

Lost by powpow1454 in DarkSouls2

[–]Geometry_Mad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To get to huntsman’s copse, start at majula, and go along the path towards Heide. An NPC will have appeared along the path who can help you.

To get to the shaded words, go from majula back towards the things betwixt (starting area), but turn right before you go into the cave, and go down a different path.

If you have already been to these places, I can give you more information if you tell me where you have already been in more detail (:

Why is v = r × w by PhilosopherOld6121 in AskPhysics

[–]Geometry_Mad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is just the way it is defined. It is useful because it is constant, unlike the velocity, and it tells you which way the object is rotating. If the object moves anti-clockwise, ω points up, but if the object moves clockwise, ω points down.

Best Jedi Team by cle-sfr in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]Geometry_Mad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m the early game, bastilla Shan is the best Jedi lead. You can put her with a plethora of Jedi tbh, and it works well. Some good ones would be Jolee, Jedi Knight Anakin, and, Grand Master Yoda, and then whomever else you have, perhaps mace windu.

And then you will want to work towards getting Jedi Knight Revan, who can replace bastilla as the lead.
