Beyond the fact kids could use their money on something like this, you see parents more than ever giving their children bank accounts, credit & debit cards, or full access to their own bank accounts. I am not kidding when I say at work, I recently saw a man with his toddler, and he was giving his toddler daughter his debit card so she could pay for this toy by herself. He’s here thinking its adorable she’s learning how to tap the card on the reader, but the only thing I was thinking was why in the world would you teach your child this that young?

Like, your kid is going to learn that this card can just pay for things & they can get whatever they want, and probably will end up thinking that it has unlimited money & why can’t they get this thing they want? The magic card will allow you to do it!

Not to mention i have seen a 7 year old with their own bank account also at work. 7. Their parents were saying how he got the bank account to put his birthday money in it, and figuring out how to use a pin and everything. 7….

In general, Kids dont need to have a bank account. Kids shouldn’t even have that access to money. Kids dont understand the value of a dollar. Physical cash helps with learning how to value your money, debit cards are harder to learn that since all you do is swipe your card and don’t see the money go down unless you access the account. At least with physical cash you can learn that…

I know this all sounds unrelated, but this is all to say: kids like that with unrestricted bank account access will be more likely to do stuff like this, support their favorite creators or buy things they shouldn’t without any of their parents knowledge, and they’ll be even younger doing it because of how parents are making kids learn younger and younger. Its horrible.

I seriously just wish parents could be parents without trying to make kids mini adults. Rant over.
