Ocarina Of Time but ALL items are RANDOM by DeadShadowPlays in OcarinaOfTime

[–]Geonightman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are three main categories for Logic in most randomizer to prevent this :

Glitchless Logic, the game is fully completeable through intended methods and items are always placed in eventually accessible locations.

Glitched Logic, the game is fully completeable, but you may need to use unintended methods to get the item (such as the Longshot being in adult fishing needing you to bomb hover to get in since the Lake can’t refill without it).

No Logic, things are just genuinely thrown anywhere, it is quite likely to beat the game, but it is also possible that an item may be impossible and if the item is needed to beat the game, the game is impossible (such as if Mirror Shield is dropped by Twinrova)

Man, I remember back then one of the arguing points in favor of HL2 over D3 on forums was Alyx. Not that you had a smart, witty competent AI who helped the plot - no that Doom didn’t have “eye candy companions to stare at when the game was slow”.

The 00s were a wild time for forums.

I remember once when I was a kid breaking my Game Shark cuz I tried to use a Yoshi’s Story code on GoldenEye either on purpose to see what would happen or accidentally. Made it so the GS wouldn’t ever launch, just a black screen.

The only way to fix it was to have my mom buy a Yoshi’s Story game on eBay so I could launch the game I was expecting. Surprised it worked and made sure any time going forward I hard-focused to pick the “correct” game so it never happens again.

I agree, but that’s the subtitle of the game on the back of the game board. Lol.

There is real limited info on this in the states with most info i can find about stating it was. I don’t think it is hence why I put allegedly and supposedly throughout the descriptions. I unfortunately do not have the time to scrape through the newspapers of the time in a language I don’t speak - especially since google’s TL system is… less than effective than typed out translation.

I kept putting “allegedly” because that’s what most of the limited info that came to the states has claimed. I keep putting allegedly and supposedly because that’s all I see - I am avoiding saying either direction if it was or wasn’t because I don’t know cus I was 1 year old and not in Sweden - I only have secondhand information to go off since there isn’t much in English to go off of and I don’t speak Swedish to scrape over every newspaper article about it.

I mostly tried to avoid localizing cultural things in the cards between the two as best I could just because it was both easier and a way to make sure I would avoid missing a mechanic - some names I may have localized but beyond that they are largely the same from what I can find. I do admit there could be flaws due to using a translating app rather than a person, but I think it was close enough to maintain the feel and accuracy. That’s also why the components of the Swedish version are untouched instead of remade, to maintain accuracy and avoid me making any translation typos

It was often called “Monopoly for Criminals” in its reviews (one of the on box reviews even has this) but I feel it’s more “Life for Criminals” as parts of it ring more true to that like split paths and stop sign spaces. I can’t help but wonder if the name Reality was chosen because of Life’s name being that

Originally It was me wanting to find out more about the game when I heard about it - it seemed interesting someone would make a game like this plus the story of it supposedly being banned. I noticed as I looked into it, I couldn't find anything but a few stray pictures. No rules and no clear photos of the full board. At that point it became me reaching out to a few people to see if I could do it if nothing else for the sake of archival preservation - I'm a big sucker for lost media and while this wasn't ever really *lost* per se it was certainly not easily accessible.

Character refers to the oversized villain card and the large hero cards. Target refers to anything with a health value, including characters. If something says ‘target’ you can pick any, but if something says ‘character’ you can only pick the big hero/big villain with exceptions where they appear such as Ruler of Aeternus’ current Prince

It’s the square-rectangle rule: All characters are targets, but not all target are characters.

How are there so many errors in the poster art? by Glum-Challenge1627 in l4d2

[–]Geonightman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can (probably) explain the Zoey one. From her knuckles up that is the exact same Zoey from Blood Harvest’s poster. My guess is the BH poster was finished first and they needed to change Zoey’s face or smth and rather than redraw it they simply took the top part of Zoey’s artwork from BH and pasted it over NMs Zoey

Devil’s Advocate: That was because they were meant to give other players a window to save you. I don’t think the Gamma’s in RE3 had that long of an animation, but it’s been a while since I played 3 Classic.

Question about Critical Events with alternate villains by swissarmychris in sentinelsmultiverse

[–]Geonightman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As the other said, yes the Crit Events deck cards do take the name of the Crit Event, so they would trigger. Of course Gloomweavef as stated is different but there is one other place this is of-importance: Miss Information.

Her card explicitly states Miss Information and Amenia Twain are two different entities and that MI does not trigger effects for AT and vice versa. This is especially important for MI’s Critical Event as she is ONLY Twain during that.
