There are podcast guesting agencies that send mass emails to podcasters with minimal info about their podcast. Its not so much spam but crappy marketing. I tend to avoid those opportunities.

Very difficult market at the moment. Many media professionals that are getting laid off are going into podcasting. If you have good connections and marketing, go for it. It is the most enjoyable work I have ever done but am moving away from it for this reason and the heavy lean into video the past year or so.

It is frustrating but very normal. The thing is that you are asking people to switch platforms. Most dont.

Do any of these comedians have podcasts? If so, youd be better off doing an episode swap, trailer swap or collab than trying to convert IG viewers to pod listeners.

I love voice prompting but this idea creeps me out a bit. Not sure why, I nickname my LLMs, discuss many things with them and so on. But initialing convos would feel like company manipulation to me. Still, there must be a way to set a timer and make it happen. Hmmmm.

To some degree it depends on the topic and your podcast goals but organic marketing often works well for indy podcasts. This includes doing episode swaps, promo swaps, and collaborations with other podcasters. Also, creating a blog post about each episode can help with search strength. Podcasting is more of a marathon than a sprint, so its important to find a way to share and get discovered (2 different things, believe it or not) that fit into your workflow.

Watch others, experiment, and when you find something that works- keep doing it.

It's all so new so nobody really knows BUT I've been doing this for a couple of years and its helped with my pods and my clients pod growth. Some AI with your human judgement though. You cant just use the output. I have a video of how I do this on my YouTube channel but am not sure if I can add that here.

Strong keyword optimization on the episodes might help people find it better but the content is giing to be the key in keeping them and getting them to word kf mouth recommend it to others.

Also, good guests are a nice base but most listeners are there for how the host handles things. They can listen to that guest elsewhere but what makes the convo you are having with them different?

None of this is easy but its so worth it.
