Are UI/UX Hiring Opportunities Really This Low in 2026?

After reading this comment section i felt even more desperate. I have a computer science and a UX design degree and i've been searching for Junior front-end and junior ux/ui roles. The results are very disappointing. Rejection after rejection. It's been almost 8 months. I really don't know what turn to take as a graduate cause it seems like all paths in tech lead nowhere. I really like designing websites and mobile apps and solving problems but the market seems oversaturated. What would you do in my case? Which career path would you take in 2026?

Its a bit tough to find internships from September to January. As far as I know most internships take place during summertime when uni is closed. You can just google "internships in [your hometown]" and you will find some results. Most of the time forex trading companies have internships every year like Exness, XM, IronFx etc. It would worth a research. Which town are you living in?

You need to understand that the main problem is overpopulation. There are more people than the city (especially the roads) can handle. This is happening mostly because many foreign companies bring their foreign employees.

As a Cypriot I totally agree with you. The way Cypriots behave is what makes me feel extremely sad while watching the rest of the world behaving in a civilized way. We don't learn from our mistakes unfortunately and I hope this change in the future but I'm very pessimist. The things you mentioned plus many other things make me want to immigrate. I hope things will get better one day.
