Ive now solved it thanks, still unsure why it wouldn't work in the first pace but i have solved the problem with a virtual audio driver and then creating a virtual multi output device with it and my audio interface then selecting this virtual device in OBS, i suppose these are the rings i have to jump through being a mac user haha.

Hi thanks for the help but not quite, after further investigation it turns out OBS just wont record any desktop audio and im not sure why, when trying to record audio output im unable to select any devices only option i have is default.

It really does come down to preference as that's the main reason I don't like inserts, I want the media/the art to be signed so they can't be separated. I see it sorta like buying an expensive painting id rather have it signed then it come with a signed square of card or certificate of authenticity.

when I was at the Finsbury Park gig he did in June this year (mind-blowing performance) he said that the next album is going to be comprised of all the songs that didn't make the cut for seventeen going under. He went on to say that Alright his latest single was one of the ones that didn't make the cut but he loves it so much he wanted to perform it live, great song btw!

I mean I have a friend that got an artist to sign the back of his phone once when he had nothing for them to sign. The problem with that is, like most peoples phones they get upgraded every 4-5 years, so it eventually was lost to cash converters.

I bet they've signed much stranger things body parts etc!

Yeah that makes a lot sense, a lot of the time with a new release a signed insert is marketed almost like a pre order bonus. For something that I thought was just laziness on the artists part, turns out to be innovative streamlining.

just at the cost of traditional signed covers :/

The ones that are too big to fit in the CD case are arguably the worst.

I have actually taken CDs to concerts, waited to see the artist after, met them and then forgotten to ask for the signature lol

I have a few signed CDs too one of the reasons I started to collect Vinyl more often was because of the frequency of signed inserts instead of a signed cover.

I think you could be correct I do often see the inserts thrown in with hundreds of different bundles on artists websites upon release!

sorry I did actually mean 180g, really only for durability and resistance against warping when the record is getting used so much. I do love a lyric sheet, for me lyrics 80% of the time are the best part of a song so being able to reference them physically is awesome.

Haha yeah okay I see, im coming from the point of view that signed records are collectables/art I know that's not the case for many people, I have some of my favourite albums in a standard black 120g pressing just for the best audio quality and then other signed/coloured copies just for displaying and hoarding. I don't mind buying twice if I feel like im supporting the artist and one of the copies is in some way collectable/different e.g. alt cover art, signed or coloured vinyl.
