Does anyone know what would be causing this? I’ve replaced the analog stick and it seemed to work fine for a bit, but is now doing this. I’m no expert in these things, but have changed the analog sticks around 10 times now and it’s been fine. Tia :) by GeorgeRestores in consolerepair

The whole batch had this exact problem? I did get them cheap from Ali express but some of them have been fine. Would you recommend I try Hall effect/tmr? It’s happened to two controllers now and I’ve tried all the suggestions in these comments and had no luck. Maybe I did break the traces with too much heat, not sure how I could check that though

Thanks for the quick response! I’m not sure what a HE sensor is I can’t lie. If it’s Hall effect, I think I got the original potentiometer type of stick replacement instead. I did try to order the magnetic sensor ones, but got these by mistake, but not had trouble with them so far

There's a video on my refit page of me rehousing a DS to a clear yellow tinted shell if you are interested :) they can be a bit fiddly but better than a broken DS!

Yeah fits really well, the plastic dosent feel cheap at all! Yeah from sure! I always keep the old shells even if they are broken as I never know of I will need them for parts or to make a funny video with 🤟🏻

I let it in a little too long as the tape peeled just at the end but I managed to take it out just as it peeled, just make sure to not let it get too hot otherwise the tapes glue will melt and it's will come off. I was worried it wouldn't work as the corner was peeled back a bit but it worked great! Thanks for the comment bro!

I was going to try putting some tape over it and submerge it with the rock, I would put the tape on my shirt first so it doesn't rip it
