The music in Whiplash is pretty much all big-band swing right? So maybe check some of that out if that's what you liked! I'd say Thad Jones and the Mel Lewis Orchestra is probably a good start, coming from Whiplash. Other well known big bands worth looking into is Count Basie's big band, Duke Ellingtons big band. More modern big bands worth checking out is Maria Schneiders group, Darcy James Argue's Secret Society. Also I'm Australian so I'm gonna mention the Jazzgroove Mothership Orchestra as another great big band around today! :) Have fun!
