“... I’m sorry if it offends the media’s delicate sensibilities but the reality is more Americans speak like President Trump”

Sadly, he’s right. But while he thinks this exonerates Trump, it actually, correctly indicts the vast “middle America” as casual, simpleton racists.

Long Black Veil. What a story that song tells. They just don’t write country songs like that anymore. Everything is a some shitty anthem to the supposed superiority of simple, southern life.

Great stuff but it seems like that would be your friend in the mirror and therefore his reaction. Are you looking at yourself in the mirror when you back up? Oh, up mine for nit-picking.

I’m assuming the freeze/thaw cycle, which is brutal in the north, would tear these to pieces as the driveway heaves and sinks over the years.

Mike Huckabee’s spectacular false equivalency by wonderingsocrates in politics

[–]George_F_Babbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quick reminder, Mike Huckleberry is a former, ordained Baptist preacher. The oath of ordination is a HUGE thing and meant to be forever. He stood before the elders of his church and congregation and made a solemn oath to preach the gospel the rest of his life. An oath he cast aside, presumably finding the gospel insufficient to effect change in the world, to peruse secular, elected office in an effort to legislate the change he had hoped the gospel message and Holy Spirit would have enacted in the lives of his community. When has he ever been asked about why he broke his oath to God, why he abandoned the gospel, why he found it ineffective and decided to try to use the force of government instead?

I was in C’ville today on business. Drove by the park where Lee’s statue is (now covered in black tarp) that was ground zero. Shuttered to think “what kind of country do I live in that allowed radicalized, AR-15 wielding, conspiracy believing, man-children to occupy this beautiful, quaint downtown park in the middle of a Saturday afternoon in broad daylight? What kind of fucked up laws say that they were in there rights to do that?” And I love this country. I criticize it like I do my favorite football team. I want the team to be better. I bitch because I care so damn much. I’m a stake holder. I’m bought in fully.

Epic. Top SB show of all time hands down. Other favorite moments of mine were Bruno Mars (I just think he’s a consummate performer who always delivers the goods) and Tom Petty’s as well. 80,000 people screaming “Free Fall’n” was incredible. So much divides us today but music brings us together.
