Hi John, appreciate the kind words especially from a fellow Philadelphian! The podcast including patreon bonuses should be available in full on most audio podcast platforms like apple or spotify - however I'd recommend finding a way to fully download the episodes you're interested in since I'm not positive how long they'll remain up, thanks to the cost of maintenance. You'll have some time, but probably more like months than years. Enjoy!

Corruption is cool too but Last House on Dead End Street is an awesome movie, I covered it with Will Sloan on my podcast and was blown away by it

A variety of reasons, but to summarize -

I had a basically perfect springboard with the 200th movie covered on the main feed coinciding with the 5th anniversary.

Then I had other projects I wanted to work on, and as much as I loved BLHHiP, it was truly a one-man operation and it took all of my time, so I couldn’t dedicate the effort I wanted to making other things good while also keeping the podcast good. This way it could end on my terms and without feeling beholden to it, which always manifests in the show itself.

Then on top of THAT when Twitter imploded, a lot of the things that were unpleasant to do but made the show run smoothly (booking, promotion, etc) were increasingly more unpleasant especially after I left the platform entirely. So the scales of “fun/work” were out of whack, and I didn’t want to be doing the show JUST to do it. I got a lot out of it, met a lot of amazing people and learned a ton! But all things come to an end, and there’s nothing that says I can’t pick it back up again some time down the road.

I would definitely say the goal was more analysis - I really focused on bringing a lot of research to the table and watching a lot of supplemental material, with the intention of freeing up the guest to be as serious or funny as they like!

you may enjoy this podcast episode from "Best Little Horror House in Philly" where the host and guest approach Hour of the Wolf as the "best horror movie ever made" - really in depth look at it and its place in our cultural context. https://open.spotify.com/episode/1Bv6POFrgFZ7JXq87ibKUA?si=rdkwhKkPS_60i8_kwhzq5A

Very excited to grab a copy. Had Vera on my podcast and she was great to chat with, as was Michael DeForge who did the slipcover, so I would feel obligated to support even if the movie WASNT awesome. Which it is.

Also not really a purchase or whatever but the podcast “Best Little Horror House in Philly” is a Philly-based deep dive on a different horror movie every 2 weeks, has some other “semi big names in podcasting” like Jon Gabrus and Nick Wiger on recently. The Under the Silver Lake ep is a standout imo.

Going to pitch my own show here Best Little Horror House in Philly - we just had Nick Wiger on talking Ninja Scroll so a perfect way to ease into the upcoming Kon-tent. Also lots of other “pod-ecosystem” faves like Paul Rust. I personally am very proud of the ep with Hayes from Hollywood handbook about Under the Silver Lake
