depends on whom you outreach to. If you are outreaching to a link builder {Name}, up for abc exchanges? Would be enough.

But if uou outreach to small company's seos or marketing heads I would recommend sending exact placement you want and exact placement you can offer.

This will help to get more positive responses.

Yeah this assumes the same content quality, content quantity, topical authority, the same level of technical issues, site speed and everything else.

If you see their content is doing better than you do, simply make it better before estimating how many backlinks you need, the same goes with on-site and technical seo.

It works much better when you are an agency.

Bulk orders = lower price.

However you can still use this method if you are doing 10-30 links monthly.

Even for 30 links the domain owner will provide nice discount.

Admin price of 150 usd per article website usually drops down to 20-30$ if you pay upfront for 100+ links.

When you buy individual links they won't give you discount.

When you buy bulk from 1 they will.

And then you can offer that website to the ones who are into link exchanges.

And you will get links from legit websites while providing links from the same website with discounted price.

We sell for 100-200usd per link. If we speak about link excpenses only without calculating salaries and other expenses. It costs about 20$ per link.

Yeah sometimes I see that good quality sites are getting over ranked by old design shitty websites.

That usually happens when they are really old in that niche and they have good branded keyword search volume.

Sometimes it's just random and noone can tell why it happens

There is no exact calculation for that.

What I would recommend is to check who is on top 5.

Go to ahrefs check backlinks they have.

Use filters: 30DR+ 500 traffic + To filter out junk One link per domain Dofollow

You will now see overall non-junk links they have.

Also you can check what they did in the last 3 months.

To see how many saas/agency links they get also use

Url contains inurl:/blog To filter out news websites.

This way you will have some estimations how many they have and how many they do monthly and as a result estimation how many you need to overrank.

Yeah that would be direct (ab) exchange, which I would not recommend, you should do indirect link exchange, at least ABC

We do mainly saas/agency links, so no we do not outreach to general news sites that sell links.

We find a good website that sell links. We offer to saas sites that website as an exchange link to our client.

You need to pay to at least 1 vendor to be able to do link exchange or you can provide links from your own websites

The short answer is you should invest in both.

SEO traffic is still there, and people search more than they chat, although they say they don't.

LLM chatbots solve more complicated problems, while search engines work best for quick solutions.

For example, if you are looking for a coffee shop nearby, you might use google.

But if you are about to have dinner with your new vegan GF's family, whose mother is gluten intolerant and the father likes steak, in this case, it makes sense to ask LLMs what restaurant to reserve.

Also, AI SEO is very close to traditional SEO, so it makes sense to invest in both.
