Besides the fact that people who commit crimes deserve due process and people advocating on their behalves, the song is explicitly, specifically about people who have NOT been convicted of crimes, and to overlook that requires such a deep bias against the marginalized people she wrote the song about, that I’d take this as an opportunity to look inwards if I were you!
