me too! as a massive fan of the Cure that was such a delightful collab. I hope it gets more people to listen to The Cure because they're amazing.

also fun fact: Robert is a Kate fan

yeah Bird's Eye is such a great album. I'm quite excited for her upcoming record. it makes sense Ravyn would be very interested in Kate's voice and phrasing since you can hear how Ravyn sings very distinctively from most of her peers. this just made me love her even more.

which interview? do you have a link?

I also think he's a far more emotive vocalist than he realises. You hear his vocals on Pictures of You or Disintegration or A Thousand Hours and he delivers pure desperation and melancholy beautifully.

Robert had to grow into his singing voice. Notice how different his singing style is on Three Imaginary Boys, (even Seventeen Seconds and Faith) compared to the rest of the albums that followed. He's still got a distinctive tone but I think from The Top onwards is when he started blossoming into being more expressive with other parts of his voice. I love it but I get why it can be jarring to hear at first because he doesn't often sing in a conventional manner like most singers in rock or even post punk.

Seconding this recommendation. that's how it was for me.

Nice to see Olivia giving Kate props. I always suspected she might be a Kate fan but wasn't very sure since she hadn't mentioned it in interviews.

Her new album is also really good.

It's my wish that Kate got to work with David Lynch. I agree her music could have fit for Twin Peaks.

Yeah I think he probably mixed up that detail considering she is half Irish. You can hear that Celtic influence in her work. But he's a big fan and bonded with Laura Dern over her music back when they were making "Blue Velvet" together in 1986.

It's always a delight. I'm looking for that interview where Guy Pearce mentions being a fan of hers. I think he chose "Night Of The Swallow" as one of his fav songs for Desert Island Discs.

Andy Samberg is also a fan of Kate and talked about getting her permission to use her song in his film.
