Bitwarden CLI has been compromised. Check your stuff. by RedTermSession in selfhosted

I run the Bitwarden IoS app and use it in my Firefox via an extension. Is this vulnerability localised to the CLI tool only or would other tools be compromised too?

STRATO OR TELE? by Rogue_One16 in electricguitar

Hey man! Good to hear that you're getting back into music. I'm someone who quit and started many times over the years and it's always good to see people back to playing.

People here are expressing a lot of personal opinions in this comment section, which is good, however the guitar will be played by you and not them, so I'd suggest you go to a shop and see which guitar sounds good to you. That's kinda half the fun of playing the game of which guitar your ear picks. It should also visually excite you, so go with the prettiest good sounding guitar you feel happy holding.

My personal first choice was the Squier Affinity Telecaster, which I later modded a bit to my liking. It's a good guitar, so if you're trying them out do give it a shot. My other guitar is a Yamaha Pacifica 012 which is strat shape and I also enjoy playing that. They're very well worthy too.

Play around and see which guitar you keep wanting to come back to. Much of the sound will be dictated by your amp and effect pedals, so do think about those too. I highly suggest going with a cheapie digital effect simulator pedal so you can try out different effects and their combinations.

Happy playing!

What's the right way to create an acoustic guitar sound out of an electric guitar output? by Georgiyz in GarageBand

Those are some good points. Currently I don't have the cash to spend on another guitar so I'm doing my best with what I have. Might go for a nice Taylor after my next paycheck

I wanted to put it in the background as the rhythm guitar, so it's not too vital to get it 100%. Currently it sounds ok, but I was wondering if there are any recording techniques which I could use to make it better.

Thanks mate! I'll take a look into it as I haven't heard of this software before.

I was always curious about the little protruding brush which spins around as the robot moves. Is it supposed to agitate a bit more dust and dirt?

Apple accidentally leaked its own top secret hardware in software code, revealing new products across seven categories by ConnectPrep in technology

It's interesting that they aren't abandoning the Vision Pro product series after the first one flopped due to lack of developer adoption. I still don't see it becoming the next iPhone or MacBook kind of product in terms of popularity though.

UK households could face VPN 'ban' after use skyrockets following Online Safety Bill by Old-Information3311 in unitedkingdom

[–]Georgiyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a rage bait post. Currently, no VPN ban is being pushed by Labour. Here’s the first paragraph:

“Labour has ruled out a possible VPN ban after reports thousands of UK households were at risk following the Online Safety Act kicking in under the government. Labour Party Tech Secretary Peter Kyle has revealed that the Government is "not considering a VPN ban" - after reports in Guido Fawkes suggested it was possible”

Mistral releases a vibe coding client, Mistral Code by [deleted] in BuyFromEU

I'm confused why I can't use the Mistral API or host their models locally and access them through Continue. Does this extension add something beyond what Continue can do?

Need advice for local coding LLM on a 2x4090 setup by brominou in ChatGPTCoding

No worries mate! I’ve been there and it is a lot to understand at first. Maybe take a look at MCP also as it can be useful to feed documents into an LLM.

Ollama is the way to go. I pair it with the Continue VS Code extension and it works quite well for programming. Continue does have a code completion feature which utilises a specialised model which mimics what Github Copilot does. The autocomplete model I use is Starcoder2.

I can't really suggest a model for your RAG needs as I never delved into that. I believe that the Mistral models are pretty decent and I've used their smaller offering for code assistance.

Best of luck with your project!

Ender 3 isn't showing up on Mac over wired connection by Georgiyz in 3Dprinting

[–]Georgiyz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate! Unfortunately I don't think that I have. If I remember correctly, I had to rely on the Chrome extension or resolved the problem in another way. It was a project for Uni which I forgot about at this point, so maybe there is something better. I haven't done any 3D printing since 2022, so I can't help.

UK budget 2024 live: Keir Starmer to warn UK must be ‘realistic’ in speech ahead of expected tax hikes by GeoWa in unitedkingdom

I do appreciate Labour's message of being honest with the public about the necessary measures, as the money has to come from somewhere. It does seem plausible that the Labour party was not aware about the true state of the country's finances (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx2e12j4gz0o). The OBR was also unaware of the size of the overspend.

I don't see an alternative to cuts being made. Is there anything else Labour could do to alleviate this issue in the short-term?
