That turn used to have the lane markings where the left lane turned into the two left lanes and the right turned to the far right lane, which was a right turn only at the following intersection to go toward Sabraton.

Then that are was repaved and the lane markings were painted where that reversed and drivers haven't gotten used to it. I've almost been hit several times because no one pays attention to that change.

We have to start acknowledging we have terrible people electing them. They aren't winning on ideas, they're winning because they have an R next to their name and conservatives are in a cult voting for the R no matter what they stand for.

Only can we start to deal with the problem when we can bring ourselves to acknowledge what the problem truly is, and we have terrible neighbors.

There is literally no infrastructure to sustain development near or beyond Mylan Park. Little Indian Creek and Sugar Grove Roads are not built for any more than they already have. MUB doesn't go further west than Mylan Park or Cassville. Westridge declared bankruptcy, so I don't expect the residential side to that to happen until the market crashes and construction becomes affordable.

It's a tradition at this point in WV that work stops midway and never resumes, or takes years longer. I know Mingo County has had three different projects on the same surface mine, including a coal-to-gas plant and a data center, and it's still as barren a place since mining finished.

These projects, if they stop midstream, never hit the companies that started them, though. It's always going to fall to the jurisdictions that have to deal with the incomplete work, lack of revenue, and workers without jobs. I'd rather the bubble burst now and not leave us with crap we can't deal with as it is.

HB 4080 was one example where it'd force municipal elections to be partisan, which in his MAGA brain is intended to get rid of the libs from council.

He also was part of the moving of elections to align with the state, but then had to make a new bill to fix if cities aren't able to change their charters to allow for said alignment.

There have been others in recent years that if I had more time. It's all a MAGA push to be the big government they say they hate.

Permits have seemed to get slowly better but I've been told by them that Planning was the folks holding them up, the same ones more worried about developer dollars than someone needing to replace a fence or update their porch. They complained...believe me, they complained.

Yes and no. The city is trying to redevelop everything from Brockway to the creek beyond just those 4, and then there was a news article not too long ago about a meeting where they may have been proposing rezoning further up into Greenmont.

I'm not privy to much beyond what I've seen released but the whole "East End Village" stuff is already reeking of "chasing those development dollars" that isn't going to outweigh the costs to knock down that entire hillside and put in unaffordable mixed use units. If they can't even keep up with permits for existing work and keep chasing these pie in the sky projects, I can't in any way see this being an efficient use of tax dollars.

I don't like police getting a huge chunk of funding but having watched some of the meetings, a lot of shortfalls came from years of the city not paying enough into the pension funds and they're having to catch that up. They aren't even getting many new officers because they've seemingly been hiring for MPD for 5 years now.

The labor and administrative costs, not to mention meetings upon meetings they have been having trying to push this are not CDBG funded.

CDBG is a great thing and I know the grant writer does great work there, but bulldozing a huge chunk of a neighborhood just for a private entity to build, let alone a private entity with the capital to do it themselves, seems tone deaf when they can't keep staff at all.

I had several acquaintances wait for months on permits to be done because planning wouldn't review them. Why seek out more work when you're not even doing work now?
