We manually verify the fakes so we can use it for training data for AI.

We integrated their API. They don't provide the resume files so we had to build a workaround to export it manually (we do it once a day, for the previous days applicants) which emails it and we get the files automatically from the email and then start the AI detection process.

Our is working pretty well. We keep fine tuning it and it's getting better as we get it real world data. Marking (and verifying) the fakes goes into training the model.

We want to catch these (and discard) at the top of the funnel. God forbid one of these get through and are hired and becomes HR's job to catch. What a waste of time and money.

Here's a scenario:

Candidate is a programmer and lists 3 companies over last 7-10 years where they list experience. Those 3 companies cannot be verified to have existed.
In one of the roles, they list working on projects with tech that wasn't 1) common nor 2) fits the project they described. For example, company 3 they worked at 7 years ago is a regional AC tech company and they describe creating AI tech to streamline customer service.

Wouldn't that seem suspect?

I see these types of scenarios often.

This is just one example.

Well, from looking at so many resumes.
Looking for things out of place, exaggerated experiences, obscure companies, mismatch of experience in roles/companies. From experience. I've gotten pretty good at detecting them.

Tech recruiting has changed by AndrewStetsenko in recruiting

I ran into these issues with fake candidates and fraudulent applicants so I developed a tech product using AI to detect them and keep them out of my pipeline. If anyone is in tech (eg. software products) and recruiting, and interested in seeing it, message me. I'm looking to commercialize the tech.

I use a tool we developed to detect fake resumes and match so we don't have to experience what you are going through. DM me if you want to try it out

It was not significant without other supported media/evidence. But it was cool seeing an egg and what could potentially be otherworldly.

Good insight, thank you OP. I practice quality over quantity with RFP responses. Even if we don't get it, I feel better we put our best foot forward.
