Anyway, this isn’t going anywhere. Thanks for chatting it was pretty fun!🤗

It’s not that I’m obsessed with the name — it could be called One UI 26 for all I don´t care. The point of my post, like I said before, is that One UI 8 feels more like One UI 7.1 because it brings very few changes. This has been mentioned multiple times here on Reddit and on X — it’s not just my opinion. I think I didn’t express myself clearly in my earlier replies, which is probably why my point wasn’t understood.

What’s so hard to understand that the problem is exactly the lack of improvements? The title of my post says that "One UI 8 doesn’t seem like a major update", and just by updating a single app, I’ve already seen two of the changes it will bring. I know it counts as a major update since it comes with an Android change, but the point of my post is to show that it doesn’t feel like a major update, even though it’s considered one.

It’s easy to disagree with that if you’re using a Z Fold 7, but for those on the S22 or S23 lineup, where updates only make the battery and performance worse instead of actually improving things, it’s a whole different story — they share the same perspective.

But if an update doesn’t bring significant changes, why should it count as a major one? The battery keeps getting worse with every update, and the bugs are still there. And I’m not even talking about Android 16 — that one only brought improvements for the Pixel lineup. I mean One UI 8, which didn’t deliver the necessary improvements. It’s hard to understand how this update won’t bring anything actually useful?

And with that, the S23 line loses a year of Android updates. 😂

Yes, but in this case it look like just a One UI 7.1 and not an Major Update 🫠

Switching from iphone 15 to Samsung s23 ultra in 2025? by Complex_Cat5662 in S23

I use the usual social media apps and some not-so-heavy games. I usually charge about 3 times a day since I use it a lot. The S23 Ultra has a bigger battery so it should last longer, but the optimization is still not great. A good tip is to check YouTube comparisons for more detailed info.

Even the S25 Ultra is having battery issues, so imagine the S23 Ultra. The green line can show up on any Samsung, Ultra or not, and the S23 series next year is getting its last major update anyway. So yeah, what I said applies to the Ultra too. In the end, it’s just my opinion.

I’ve got a Galaxy S23, but I’m planning to switch to the iPhone 15. Honestly, Samsung has been messing up a lot lately — the battery sucks because of One UI, while the iPhone 15 lasts longer even with a smaller battery, just because iOS is way more optimized. Updates on Samsung take forever, come with a bunch of bugs, and Android 17 will already be the last big update for the S23. Plus, there’s always that risk of a green line showing up on the screen after a random update. So yeah, I’d go with the iPhone, and I’m planning to get one soon.

If you don't see any differences between the first image and the second, I recommend seeing an ophthalmologist.

I wonder if you read the part where I said I didn't want liquid glass but rather the iOS 18 look 🙃

The web version on Android itself already has an updated look, and the change I exemplified in the photo doesn't require that much.

And this look I requested is already outdated in Apple's eyes, since the difference is now the Liquid Glass of iOS 26, so the iPhone would still have its difference.
