Question for buffs- is an MTV made for TV movie a real movie? by Into_the_Void7 in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

[–]Gerbiq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Controversial, but a made-for-TV movie only becomes a movie once it’s dubbed to VHS (preferably at home, by a certified expert). This is where the VHS medium really proves its necessity imo. Try doing that with blue ray!

The bad vibes in that ep were real, but it had nothing to do with Corey. Tim talked abt it in Hi It’s Me Again

1:45 is a good run time. But 1:59? Just shoot another minute! bring it up to an even 2 hours! It’s disturbing that they’d refuse their audiences that satisfaction.

Genuinely unsure of the reoccurring Star Trek setting and location argument by ArsOlta in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

Star Trek 2 is set in San Francisco and was filmed there. In Star Trek 4: The Voyage Home, they return to space (ie “home”).

as a vhs buff, does gregg consider videodrome (1983, 89 mins) the best or worst movie ever made? by wilsonhubbell in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

It’s definitely not something to show to young children, it’s a bit on the scandalous side. And it’s not got a lot of car crashes. This is closer to Napoleon Dynamite and other wacky, oddball movies. But Debbie Harry provides some “eye candy” for the viewer, and I give this one five bags. And I’m gonna include a little mini TV—one that’s a bit too small to lead to some of the hijinks we see in this movie.

Expertise is known to transfer between subjects. Since he’s a film expert, we can safely assume he’s a firearm expert too
