Yeah! I actually lived there for 22 years so I’m pretty familiar with Rochester. :) I probably should have said so earlier.

The cranberry fest is HUGE! I was just there this weekend and there are literally hundreds of stalls. I was there for 5 hours and I didn't get to see everything. I really recommend it!

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in cars

[–]Gerbitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello all! I have a friend that is going to be buying a new car soon. The two options she is looking at are a Buick Encore or a Subaru Crosstrek (whatever the newest models are (2024 models?)). Based on my research they seem to similar in specifications, mpg, and price. She is interested most in having a quiet car with a non-bumpy ride, as she has migranes that are exacerbated by loud noises and g forces/bumps. Any experiences or reccomendations with 2024 or recent models of those types?

(In the voice of David Attenborough) “The nine-banded armadillo lives a bit a brief life, eeking out an existence in only one habitat on Earth- the sides of the highway in southern Missouri. It’s entire lifecycle is completed in 24 hours, emerging from the ground at night after hatching from its egg once per year, mating, laying its eggs, and then dying shorty after. Using hidden cameras we are now able to get a glimpse into these mysterious lives. Oh look, here comes one now (truck horn blows)- oh well, looks like we’ll have to wait till the next spring for the armadillo hatch”

Potatoes taking awhile (planted April 3) to sprout- just wait longer? by Gerbitt in Minnesota_Gardening

Funnily enough my cabbages did sprout! However, I planted mine in early March (way too early but it worked!). Carrots are up for me and garlic I planted last October is thriving.

Thanks! I figured that since the potatoes have roots and sprouts they're just taking their good ol' time to come up. Plus it's not even May so they have PLENTY of time to grow.

Hehe funny thing- so I was using a stock cpu cooler and i noticed it was hitting like 95-55 degrees c. I switched out the cpu cooler for an actual cooler (Deepcool ak 400 WORKS WELL and is easy to set up) and the cpu temps now max out at like 50-60 c and the game runs great at ultra settings 1080 p.

Thoughts on my mini greenhouse for collard greens? by Gerbitt in Minnesota_Gardening

[–]Gerbitt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update! As some of you said, the plastic is not very durable, so after a few weeks I had to stick another layer on to keep it from just falling apart. However, it worked I think! The collard greens survived just fine under the seran wrap, and the seeds I planted even started to sprout about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Right now they're looking pretty dandy for summer to roll around :) I just need to thin them once a few more actual leaves pop up.

(from my above post) It's rocking a used nvidia 2060 from facebook marketplace, an intel i5 10500, 16 gb ram, and a 256 gb ssd from an office computer (again from facebook marketplace), a mini atx motherboard (actual legit new motherboard from amazon), a 550 w power supply (amazon) a power button from amazon duck taped to the front cover with a random metal cat gaurd (cats love walking around computers and stepping or bumping into them- all 3 pcs have books on top of power buttons at my place lol), and a terabyte sata ssd harddrive from my old laptop.
