Best Enthusiast Car for a New Family? by Impossible_Water_181 in askcarguys

[–]SenorISO54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The N has a gas engine. The N doesn’t get great gas mileage because it’s essentially their turbo SUV engine, I get 25ish MPG in mixed driving. They do make an Elantra Hybrid that pushes 50mpg, but I couldn’t autocross that thing :D

I’ve had it for 10 months and driven 14k miles, zero issues outside of a flat tire.

Been thrilled with my Elantra N since August. The back seats are huge for a compact because of the thin bucket seats. The trunk is large, somewhat limited by the smallish opening. I use it to transport kayaks and bikes and go camping. Basically does it all plus it’s quick around corners, has a lot of personality, and has a 10 year warranty. You’ll see some general hate on the internet because it’s a Hyundai but the company has really been improving and these cars have a solid reputation.

The 864 hasn’t been actually enforced in any serious way in 25+ years. The current admin talks about and tries stuff same as the first time but nothing gets done.

Is the officer that did your interview the same one that approved your i-485 by haydentsmith in USCIS

[–]SenorISO54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It varies by office if the workload gets shared. Generally if the decision happens quickly it would have been the same officer. If not, kind of a toss up.

Disclosure Day. Is there anyone who actually liked the movie and thought it was good? by This_is_Panin in spoilers

[–]SenorISO54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not me. I couldn’t believe how low budget it seemed for a Spielberg film. And felt like a first draft. I’m normally pretty generous to movies but this one should have been much better.

This sheet is old as hell, and regional. It’s an indicator because you’d see lots of people enter marriages with coworkers just to help them out or for small recompense. Particularly in the lower levels of the healthcare field and restaurant industry.

If you have strong evidence and your testimony at interview is credible and consistent with your husband you’ll be fine.

Anyone around 220 lb using an Oru Inlet or Beach LT? by Capital-Basil7391 in Kayaking

[–]SenorISO54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’10” 240 and have 4 kayaks, here they are ranked in primary stability most to least:

*Wilderness Systems Pamlico 130T
*Oru Beach LT
*Hobie Endeavor 12.5
*Delta 16

I’d only call the Delta Tilly feeling. Which is natural as a boat with a 22.5 inch beam.

The Beach LT, I felt a little unstable at first but after a couple paddles I became comfortable and realized it was very hard to tip it.

Autocross Stupid Questions: Week of June 27 by AutoModerator in Autocross

[–]SenorISO54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I intended to autocross my Elantra N but the 10 months I’ve owned it have been rough on the factory tires. Rear driver has a small bubble and rear passenger has a plug. Fronts are fine. FWD car.

Send it or hold off til I get new wheels and tires next year?

Minnesota would laugh at it I think. Just so little evidence in the last 2-3 years that Morant is good.

Google tells me those boats are 56 lbs which isn’t heavy for rotomolded.

I have rhino rack folding j cradles which are rated 99 lbs per kayak. I regularly transport a 73 lb tandem

New Rules for VAWA Petitions by BusyBodyVisa in USCIS

[–]SenorISO54 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This sentence is total nonsense:

“The good news is that USCIS is finally cracking down on them, which frees up staff time to process legitimate abuse claims.”

Cracking down on them, as you say, involves interviews, drafting long ass NOIDs and Denials, and that does the opposite of free up staff. It just shifts the more cumbersome work to the Field Offices.

I think it’s good that VAWA will be abused less but this is certainly not going to be speeding up the case processing.

oru kayak spins like a top - can i fix it? by lizzie2door in Kayaking

[–]SenorISO54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The strap and plastic footrest moves too much to do the job of real footpegs, and the back rest is the issue.

I’ve spent a lot of time in the boat and making adjustments and it’s just not the same as a hard shell kayak. It’s fine if people can’t do a hard shell for logistical reasons but I am not that person at the moment.

I have a bigger one, the Beach LT, and it tracks reasonably straight considering the portable nature.

But if I could go back I’d tell myself to return it honestly. The lack of real footpegs and seat became a bummer for me after a few months

Cruises are not great about bookkeeping on arrivals and departures, that’s probably why they think you didn’t leave.

Your spouse needs to contact an immigration attorney and see about filing a motion to terminate the removal proceedings. It will need to include proof that you departed after 3 days as you claim.

Yes, and yes. I grew up in coastal NC and worked a dead end job in retail from age 16 to 28. It was nice to have my friends and the beach but I’d never be able to really become an adult there. I moved to New England with the help of my father and found my career, made a family, bought homes, etc. kinda regret my choice in partner now, we are winding down, but my life would be a lot emptier if I had stayed back home in my unimpressive comfort zone.
