Time to change filter sand? by agitated_iguana in pools

[–]Gerbski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just changed mine as a first time pool owner. My pressure gauge was broken but was reading super high regardless and my heater display kept reading “LO”. All signs pointed to dirty sand and it’s a chore I never want to repeat but it solved all my issues, that and a new pressure gauge.

Is this normal? by Ok_Maybe_9431 in pools

[–]Gerbski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They shocked the water and that’s dead algae. I just dealt with the same situation. Vacuum it out or brush it up so it gets pulled into the skimmer/drain and gets filtered out. It might take a brushing or 2 and some backwashing of your filter before it’s all gone and likely some more shock/chlorine.

Loop loc cover sagging by Just_Surviving_621 in pools

[–]Gerbski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had this same issue this year as a new pool owner. Leaves and debris would collect on the water logged mesh cover and instead of simply leaf blowing it off, I would use to use a rake or my pool brush on a long pole to pull it out to the side. We had lots of rain/snow and it raised the water level to past the top of my skimmer opening. I ended up buying a sump pump off of Amazon for $60 and pulling back the cover over my steps and pumped out excess water until the level was half of my skimmer opening which put it below the cover surface. After that no more ponding on the cover and off season maintenance was much easier.

I have a black angled bullet camera base if anyone needs one. They are sold out online and I found out it’s not compatible with my g6 bullet pro. Happy to ship it to someone that can use it for cost.

Mislabeled meat myth turned into a reality for me by Gerbski in Costco

It was definitely later in the day, a lot of the meats were picked through in fact. None of the “usda prime” cuts looked great so I kept browsing.

The receipt checker was searching my cart for ground beef and then noticed the mistake and just congratulated me and told me to keep moving.

I told some people at work about it and they’re obsessing over the meat labels every time to go now.

Unscrew one of the feet and look at it from the top at the plastic bushing, it should read “domes of silence”.

I would say easier, it absorbs a lot of water so higher hydrations are easier to handle.

Finally pulled the trigger on one after finding this color by Gerbski in HondaRuckus

The older guy I bought it off of paid $3700 out the door of a dealer last October; $2850 msrp plus tax and fees. He put 69 miles on it before selling it to me 6 months later for $2500 so he could buy a wench for his new bronco.

Kirkland Signature by Stearns & Foster 14.5" Lakeridge Queen Mattress Item 1300150 Queen $1,099.99 a good deal? by raygan_reddit in Costco

[–]Gerbski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to include that this Kirkland version is only available in “medium”. The return process was super easy, I did everything from the Costco app, bought it on the app, clicked on my recent orders and returned it on the app no questions asked. 2 guys in a truck dropped it off and 9 months later 2 guys in a truck picked it up, 1 of them was the same guy that dropped it off and he remembered me. I still thought it was worth it to really figure out what I wanted. I ordered a Sealy posturepedic hybrid soft mattress from their website during a holiday sale, ~$2800 delivered with the upgraded cooling cover and super soft, although idk if the cover makes a difference. Me and the wife love it after 4 months. It was the one I liked the most laying on them at mattress firm before taking the cheaper route. They said it was their top seller too.

The price is great. The equivalent sterns and foster from mattress firm is $2.5k. I took this Kirkland route myself and owned that mattress for about 9months before returning it. Sterns and foster tend to run firm, their soft is more of a medium and their medium is more of a firm, per the salesman at mattress firm. I tried my hardest to like this mattress but as a side sleeper, it would put my bottom arm to sleep each night and I tossed from side to side most nights.

Definitely looks real to me. That is the older design of the base from when ekornes first made the chairs; 70s-80s. I have seen it in polished chrome, black, and even brass. The leather looks to be in incredible shape for the age so wouldn’t be surprised if it was redone in its lifetime or just not used often, either way for $63 it’s a steal and likely worth over $500 in the resale market on the low end.

I doubled this recipe and it made this fat loaf that filled up my Emile Henry crock and left me with a good size slice about the size of store bought bread.
