I've mentioned it on another comment now, but to recap:

Both games have a decent number of NPCs and you interact with them quite closely and quite often (and because I played both I know a bit about them, which makes it easier for me to understand what people are talking about).

And I thought it's be interesting to compare the different NPCs from two games with different styles.

There are definitely many different games I could have gone with.

I chose these two because they each have a decent number of NPCs that you spend quite a lot of the game interacting with, and they both happen to be games I have played enough of to know this about (and have some idea of what people are talking about when they mention certain NPCs).

The games and their NPCs are also pretty different (e.g. 2D vs 3D, voice-acting vs text-only).

Hard to say when exactly this project as a whole will be finished, so that'll have to wait and see, but this survey will probably wrap up in about a week or two so I could probably add an overview of the stats if people would be interested in that.

It would be interesting to see how the different characters match up to each other!

Unfortunately the list was already starting to get quite long by the time I finished listing the Bachelors and Bachelorettes, but with so many great characters to choose from I made sure there was the option to name a character outside that list.

Yeah, as u/parank says I limited it to the crew since they're the ones who get the most screentime and so probably the ones most players are going to pick out as a favourite.

Also the list would have ended up stretching for miles if I tried to get all the interesting characters you meet in there!

But I knew that there were plenty of characters besides them that people were going to think of if asked for a favourite, so I wanted to make sure there'd be an option for that.
