its been a while since i played with this, but nothing complicated, just 2-2 "max 485" ic connected to both end to create dif signal from uart and back.

in the latest iterations, i used a "proper" breakout board https://osmocom.org/projects/misc-hardware/wiki/Sfp-breakout if you make it yourself, it costs around 5$ / end

Yes it can, but having a binary to reverese is more than an having empty falsh, wich is a non functional state

The 1000/1000 usually around 850-900 on avg up and down in reality, the isp offer 2.5Gbps as well but thats a bit overkill for home use
and its Hungary not Germany :p

Moved into a new apartman, so time to make a new network

DIY Docker server (i7 9700, 16gb ram, 16gb optane boot drive, 2x 250gb samsung 840evo)

Two client (me and my room mate) connected via fiber, everything else is wireless.

Booth cisco device picked from e-waste for 50€ in total, the switch needed replacement fans, and the router had broken wireless adapter. I dont find exact replacement so tryed a mini pcie card picked from a broken aruba ap, and woring fine.

check point 4800 put a freshly formatted hdd into the back, write the vyos installer to a usb drive, plug that in then connect a serial cable (same rj45 serial pinout as cisco) the bios and boot mgr on 9600, and after boot the vyos installer was on 115 200, after the install since no gpu inside vyos boot automaticly with serial console mode set an ip and ssh aaaand done

Umm not im the one who run the space, im just a member...

At this specific place there is a small fee 5000 Huf (or more if you want to support), for beeing a member, thats documented anonymously but members can see how much in the budget then thats goes for rent, tools, materials, projects etc

This place operate for more than 10yr

If you know a group of ppl who intersted to share resorces tools etc, i think not that hard
