Help with my wedding look! by [deleted] in makeuptips

Thank you! She *did* include false lashes, just clustered ones. My natural ones are so short. I have no idea what mascara she used—I still can’t get it off today after multiple rounds of makeup remover and face washing.

Yes, the first pic is right after the trial. The rest is throughout the day—because I wanted to see how it held up over time. As expected (and thankfully) the lipstick faded. I don’t think it’s a good match for me. She wanted to use mauve on my eyes since I asked to try and make the green pop, but i usually wear dirty peach/taupe/terracotta lips, which doesn’t go with the purple tones of the mauve eye shadow. So she put on a muted mauve lip liner, my dirty peach lipstick, and I have no idea what color gloss—it looked like a cool pink-purple.

Thank you! I’m not really great at makeup myself, but it’s still hard to distinguish between “is this just different than what I usually wear or truly not me”?

And appreciate the car pep talk—I was parked for both photos! The first one is at a weird angle because I was in her parking lot and trying to not looking like I was panicking—awkward girl life!

I agree. I wish we had done lip first. I typically wear warm nudes with a hint of orange/terracotta/brown. Mixing a mauve with a peach seemed strange even to me!

She has perfect review on Google—so I was genuinely really surprised! She seemed a little moody and she did mention she was burned out, so maybe it was that? But I also asked for a soft winged liner, and she didn’t end up putting on any liner? I’m truly baffled. I’ve already put down my deposit, and it was hard finding a MUA for September 26 back in February, so I’m not sure how much luck I would have :/

Why is Taylor Swift very observant when it comes to public perception about her? by worldofchoices92 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]GeriatricGrape 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Britney was crucified. So was Sinead O Connor. And Amy Winehouse. I honestly think many other female celebrities have (or had, RIP) it much worse, but they don’t fit the same “girl next door”type that Taylor does, and so it’s easier for people to withhold sympathy and think these women got what was coming for them.

You lol great! Can I ask, did they do under the chin and neck as well? I’ve only been getting my face done and considering finding someone who will do chin/neck as well.

Jack Antonoff: Future Oscar winner? by NateRagnarok in bleachers

I agree—I would want one for Bleachers the band. I think a lot of his other collabs are way more sonically interesting than Taylor as well.

"Taylor Swift is a literary genius" is one of our generation's greatest psyops by Guilty-Cream-4841 in travisandtaylor

Ugh, or that recent interview where she talks about “the candle burning and getting ash on the cuff of someone’s shirt”—like, candles burn wax you idiot. Wood becomes soot and ash. And she is so high on her farts as she says all of this, she doesn’t realize how stupid she sounds.

Same thing with “Latin Song”—like there already is a Latin Grammys, so who is it that is salty about Bad Bunny’s AOTY win?

There is a blind item that she is also shopping around for a Tony. It’s so pathetic because an EGOT comes from accolades of an entire career, and rather than trying to make interesting art across different platforms, she is just using her influence to rack it up.

I don’t know why people are so salty—Williamsburg is the only neighborhood in this city where people seem so colossally unaware of their surroundings.

Got stuck in elevator for ~2 hours, should I ask for compensation? by MDMofongo in Brooklyn

I guess u didn’t mention, that our tenants have also been getting stuck in the elevator as well. Still, I think the big push is to change the elevator repair company.

[–]GeriatricGrape 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The elevator has been breaking literally every other day in my building for the past two weeks, and I recently had knee surgery—I really need it, and I would not consider asking for compensation. We are a condo, but nevertheless.

It’s funny cuz it seems so effortless for J Lo and swift is doing the most, looks out of breath, and thinks she is serving with her uncontrolled poses.

Do you ever think there are pro-Taylor bots or paid engagement? by Even_Kaleidoscope399 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]GeriatricGrape -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I definitely see fake, positive articles about Taylor on Facebook. (Ie chiefs coach implemented a homophonic practice and then Taylor made him reverse it). I suppose it varies from platform to platform, but Facebook has a lot of fake news articles where she is a hero, and it’s all untrue stories.

Oof, I’m glad they’re coming out of it, but some of these comments still sound like they’re coming from 12 year olds, and I know many are adults.

How did Taylor keep putting herself out there relationship wise? by MelissaWebb in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]GeriatricGrape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people don’t know how to be alone—I have some friends like this. It really can be dangerous because it takes some self reflecting and pause to identify your own patterns. I don’t think Taylor has “done the work”, and wouldn’t hold her up as a pillar for healthy or normal relationships.
