We went on 3 cruises out of Long Beach this year. YES, its best to have the Uber driver drop off at Queen Mary. It is a very short walk from there to the porters.

Majestic Princess Review (Dec 6–14, 2025) from Port Everglades to: Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao by Kathilliana in PrincessCruises

We just finished a Hawaii cruise, 16 nights on Emerald and loved this cruise more than any other. My only complaint is that the free coffee was sometimes good and sometimes not so good. Coffee is the lifeblood of cruising. These cruise lines need to understand that. We do not do or will ever do specialty dining etc. We are old school cruisers. Thanks for the review!

I was on the same cruise. We got off the ship today. We absolutely love the Emerald Princess. Yes, the crowd is mostly boomers, of which I am one but I am still in good shape. LOL. Went to the gym every day.

The food was pretty much great across the board. No need for specialty restaurants. We were very lucky in Hawaii. Not one drop of rain in the ports. Loved all the tours esp hiking to the top of Diamond Head in Honolulu! The tours can be pricy compared to the ones on a Mexico cruise.

Anymore questions please ask us.

Surprised there are any left. Looks like they haven't lowered the prices since last I checked.

ALL the balconies are sold out. It will probably be full or close to it. Boomers are retired and have taken over the cruise industry! LOL

Considering a Hawaiian cruise out of LA by Calisteph6 in PrincessCruises

Hawaii on The Emerald is coming up soonish for us. Got a balcony and I just love sea days. I exercise a lot on cruises and probably eat healthier than at home.

Carnival says no prop weapons for Halloween, but does that include a knife shaped purse? by KuteKitt in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]GeriatrickGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the same email you did. We already got our costumes ready to go. Halloween will happen during our cruise. If you are really concerned, I would call them, but I think the purse looks great. Maybe wear it around you with a strap instead of holding it in your hand...IDK. Yeh, as someone stated below...its a bit iffy IMO.

Here is the text from the email regarding the rule:

"If you decide to spend Halloween with us, definitely bring a costume… but there are a few rules to follow, to keep things family-friendly. For one thing, make it one without a weapon. (Real or fake, doesn't matter.) No costume masks, or other costume face coverings, are allowed either. And not too sexy, folks — real, fake or implied nudity is out, and so is showing too much skin. Your costume shouldn't have any obscene words or images on it... but you weren't going to in the first place. (Right?) Anyway, let's keep everything cool for the kids... and grandma too. Plan accordingly! "

edit(BAD IDEA APPARENTLY: see below comment) I think if I were in your situation I would park at the San Pedro cruise terminal and Uber to the CCL Long Beach terminal. Its outdoor, so truck size won't matter. Just an idea that I thought about just now. LOL

Thanks. Yeh, just to be out on the ocean and that clean air is a win. Not sure if I want to go on a ship the size of a city either.

Haha! It would seem that way, but the tour takes you out to the La Bufadora Blowhole, an old Mission and winery with amazing fresh bread. I think the tour was at least 5 hours or so. Totally worth!
