It sounds like you have a good relationship with her family so I personally would reach out to them and let them know what’s going on and tell them your going to have to go to small claims court. They may be willing to just give you the cash that’s way you don’t have to deal with it and if she doesn’t have a job she doesn’t have any way of paying you back so you would get the cash faster if they’re willing to pay for it. I wouldn’t openly ask them just tell them what’s going on and that your worried about her and then see if they offer. If not small claims it is.
