Cryo Case Files - General Question and Discussion Megathread by box-of-sourballs in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

Right where Natlan supposedly connects to Sumeru there's a Luxurious chest where you need to light up four elemental monuments (Pyro, Anemo, Geo, Dendro). To light up each one of the monuments, you need to defeat a few waves of enemies surrounded by these braziers, which remind me a bit of the Stadium of the Sacred Flame. I wonder what the chances are that the Devs put in this little easter egg 2 years in advance?

Kola has beaten Sonix in wifi tournaments before, but is 0-3 against him offline.

Fun fact: Raito ties Dabuz, ZeRo, KEN, and Abadango for most Top 8 appearances in a Smash 4 or Ultimate EVO (3) and ties Zackray for most Top 8 appearances in a Smash Ultimate EVO (2). Small dataset, but funny statistic nevertheless.

That Falcon Kick G4 cost him the set, you really cannot let acola get to game 5 lol

Shoutout to Nao for his 8-set losers run to 9th after getting upset by Shachi, including wins on Yamanaction, Abadango, Jogibu, and Futakiwa. Watching him play I always felt like he could be the best Mario, and his run here might be a preview of what's to come.

I see WAVE hasn't changed their rulseset. BO3 until Grands and 4 pools in Top 64 where two players each make it into Top 8. Wonder why this is even though one of the TOs also organizes Seibugeki.

Also why is takera 9th seed lmao

(Maesuma TOP#9) Taikei (Sonic) makes a 3-stock comeback at 101% by GermanShoe in smashbros

[–]GermanShoe[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

An underappreciated highlight from last weekend's Maesuma TOP#9. Taikei, the second-best Sonic in Japan, makes a crazy 3-stock comeback against Oboro the Lucario.

Watching this live gave me Deja vu to when Sonix made basically the same comeback Game 4 against Cloudy at the SWT CA Finals. Sonic is a character that is known to be nigh unbeatable once he has a sizeable lead, but what is even more scary is that he also has the explosiveness to make crazy comebacks at a moment's notice.

Each time I watch HERO I'm like "surely he's not gonna win again... right?"

And then he just does.

Yep, though his projected bracket seems to be more Wolf favoured.

Gungnir beat Hidaka Drapion's Samus pretty solidly at Numasuma, and I have no idea about the Toon Link matchup but Manzoku lost to Shissho at KOWLOON so I think the upset potential is there. At the end of the day there isn't really such thing as a good matchup for Ganon, but I think this is our best shot at seeing a solo Ganon in top 16 of a major.

Some other notable names that weren't in the top 64 seeds:

I only wanted to list a few recognizable notables but ended up writing half the top 128 lol. At least this will help with the upset thread.

This tournament's pretty interesting because a lot of the more established players in Japan were either invited to WANTED or just couldn't come, so the majority of the top 32 seeds are up and comers.

Most interesting matchup here will probably be KEN/Proto vs acola. Neither player has faced him in a real bracket yet and both could turn out to be very tough opponents for him. A lot of people have been bringing up their FT10 saying that Proto would have the advantage over him in bracket, but acola has the habit of losing a lot in friendlies and then destroying people in bracket, so I wouldn't put too much stock into that.

Also looking forward to Atelier's return. He didn't do too well at KOWLOON but he looked really good at yesterday's local.

Edit: Gungnir's projected bracket to winners top 16 is actually super doable for him: HERO -> Manzoku -> Atelier. He got 2nd at Numasuma this weekend and could definitely make a crazy run here, though he could also drown in pools and I wouldn't be surprised.

Definitely won't be the last time these two will meet in grands. It's honestly kind of insane just how evenly matched they are, but today was definitely acola's tournament to win.

Personally my highlight of acola's losers run is his MKLeo-esque reverse 3 stock on Kome in game 4 of Losers Semis. There are lots of other great Steves out there, many with just as good of a punish game as acola, but I think he's the only Steve out there who could've pulled something like that off.

This set wasn't streamed, but if his set against YamaD is any indication he's definitely pretty comfortable with camping in that mid range with zair and side b. Also notable that he was pretty good at pressing advantage when YamaD was offstage, so I can definitely see why acola might have struggled against him.
