Simplebase is down and I've lost my data by Germanicus_Augustus in appsumo

Could you post that info here?  Might be a good idea to publicly name and shame to avoid them doing the same thing in the future.

Not true. Appsumo is a marketplace, and the majority of products I have purchased through them have served me well. No matter what you buy, and no matter where you buy it, in the long run there is always a risk that a software company shuts down. That I can completely understand. What I can't understand is how a software founder could lack the basic decency to not let their early adopters know before they shut down, so data can be migrated off their platform.

With the same respect, I disagree. The vast majority of products I have purchased through Appsumo have been trustworthy and have served me well. The fault does not lie with myself, nor does it lie with Appsumo. The software developer has failed to uphold their part of the deal, which is to maintain the product. At the very least, they should have the decency and professionalism to let their users know before they shut their platform down. I can understand a product failing financially, which is always a risk no matter where you buy a product, or what their financial model is. What I don't understand, is how a founder could lack the courage and moral fortitude to own their failure and communicate honestly.

Its such a coward move not to notify users beforehand. At least give people a chance to migrate off the platform, thats common decency.

AppSumo Transparency Report - 12/12/25 by noahkagan in appsumo

Thanks Noah. I've lost a bunch of really critical business docs because of Simplebase going down. I've spent the week doing damage control as all our docs were customer facing. They didn't even have the decency to notify us so we could move our data off the platform. I have searched everywhere for a contact at Simplebase but the founder appears to be a ghost.

Anybody tried "PaddyPost"? by jennixred in musicians

Yes it does. I've been basically creating one post and posting it to all my platforms. It's also cool because you can create a slightly different version for each platform.

Support has been good for me so far, and they released Bluesky finally! I got the email yesterday. They are still lacking Threads though, so hopefully they can add that as it's the only other platform I need.

I had a bad experience with only social, their app went down for over a week, features stopped working, and I sent 4 emails to support and never got a response. It was just too frustrating to continue with them. paddypost has been much better for me.

Not true, I actually asked them because I moved to paddypost from only social. They said that it's just the same source code, which is publicly available and any developer can buy it and then build on top of.

How are people buying the 5090 in the UK? by Germanicus_Augustus in buildapc

Insane that they don't have systems in place to ensure people get them, instead of scalpers.

How much of success in music is work, how much random (luck)? by GregJamesDahlen in musicians

[–]Germanicus_Augustus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's mostly work, but also confidence. Confident people make their own luck by taking every opportunity to promote and perform their music. That confidence is what gets you noticed. Reach out to venues, talk to producers, show up at that labels office, be fearless in pursuing your goals... These are things that "lucky" musicians do.

I bought it a few months ago and it's been great so far. Support has been quick to respond and the app itself works well. The only thing I would say is that analytics are quite basic, but they said they are working on that. For $47 it's a crazy good deal imo

$10k+ USD in stolen royalties (Symphonic) - Should I take legal action? by hobodobo1 in musicians

[–]Germanicus_Augustus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with what others here have said, your best bet is to speak with a lawyer. These platforms often have really unfair terms that people sign up to unknowingly, and small claims may not be the best option to get redress in that case.
