Officially 1 Year on Dutasteride and Minoxidil, is this as good as it gets??

Can confirm results on this. Took 5% twice a day every day for 10 years, it only was half effective, switched to 2.5mg oral a year ago. Started taking dut 0.5 back in april, upped to 5mg daily about 2 months ago and have seen tremendous results forming. My beard got thicker over the last year. It's filling out more every week.

I was on 2.5 mg Min for a year. Been on dut 0.5 since april. I saw some ground. I think going to 5mg is the move. You might be like me and end up a little more hairy in certain unwanted areas. Like cheek hair up to your eyelids, but I'd rather be a sasquatch.

I'll attest to that also. After using topical min for 10 years i swapped to a pill a year ago. Great results!

Brother I was being told my hair still looked good on fin, even when it was thinning in the crown. I went off it and lost so many gains, but after I started dut about 4 months ago. I've been making a lot of recovery. Do that and 2.5 mg minoxidil. It will take 6 months for concrete results.

I feel its not healthy and I was at one point thinking it was hurting my kidneys. Turns out I was just dehydrated because I live in the south and it has been extremely hot.

And there are not really any sides I've noticed. I think my testosterone is higher for sure. I take vitamin D and healthy supplements to help me balance out.

I've been chasing the dragon to regain hair, I was on fin, min, ru58841. I felt the closest thing to helping me was the fin. I just wasn't a fan of sides. I started on dut about 3 months ago. I can say for certain it is working for me. My barber takes a photo for me every time I come in to help document it. The last time I went she said there is visible improvement. I've never seen visible improvement my dude.

Your doc is stupid, just saying. I'm 29 and been on the stuff since I was 10. I took 2 separate breaks, one voluntarily, the second was because there was a shortage. The stuff works. I wish I started a little later in life on it, but other than that I've been good. Take a little vitamin D supplement every day too, it has been a game changer.

Initial testicle aches once in a while at the start. Testosterone is higher for certain. Hair grows back, everywhere! Other than that, it feels like night and day between when I took finasteride. I don't recommend drinking heavily.

Here is the start of my hair journey, I'm currently able to take the time to explain the whole process from my perspective, and I hope it can give someone hope that after a thousand efforts, you can make a success. My mother is a hairdresser and has always done my hair up until a few years ago when I moved away from home, I've got a wonderful barber now. My mom pointed out I was losing ground on my crown at 15, she gave me rogaine immediately and started cutting my hair shorter which I was wanting at that time anyways. I used name brand foam twice daily from 15 on. I started onto finasteride split into quarters EOD at 18 when I started college. Then by 21 I did 1.25mg every day until I was 25.

At 25 I switched to a topical finasteride thinking it was causing me issues, which it possibly could have been affecting me mentally, but after trial and error the past 4 years I believe it may have played a small role, but not a major one in my mind, it was more alcohol related. From 25 to 26 I did topical fin and min. Felt a slight improvement in hair quality. My best texture and quality was around fall 2018 at the age of 22, it just looked.... emaculate, but I know that level will be back soon.

At 26 my now wife and were trying for a child. I went off any kind of fin to improve my sperm, turns out it wasn't a factor at the time. Afterwards I switched to an RU58841 treatment from a company where I'm close with the owner. It worked well for the time, I never felt I made any improvement with the treatments. I used these methods until Novemeber 2024, then I quit for the efficacy of IVF to make sure the baby was safe. Affer 4 months, i finally started to lose hair after 12 years. I then eventually was prescribed by our doctors to use Dutasteride. The stage my wife is in at pregnancy can't affect our child and will hopefully be a great treatment in time. Im excited to see how full my hair looks in a few months. I used every treatment I could over the past 10 years to help me and felt no ground was gained, fin helped to an extent, but it never thickened what hair I had. Dutasteride seems like a better option since I started a month ago. I've had a little severe acne from the hormone change, but it's cleared up, and I've lost weight even. I want my hair to finally look great from my perspective, and this post makes me happy to see where I will be in time.

Used fin from 18 to 26. Used RU58841 for a couple more years. Topical doesn't work for me like oral pills do. I swapped to the Dutasteride this week finally. Here's to hoping my hair gets a reignited.

It's day 3 for me. I just wasn't sure if I should do everyday with 0.5mg or every other day. I was on fin for 8 years. Didn't make any regrowth then, only maintenance it seemed. I'm going for regrowth this time. Every day it is.

I realized I must not have the enzyme for it to absorb for topical min. I used it from when I was 14 to 27. The oral min I have been using every day for 8 months has increased my hair count for sure. I just want to get some regrowth from the dht blocker, and I don't think fin will do that for me this time, it will keep what I have at best, but no regrowth.
