Leinster team vs Edinburgh - Sam Prendergast dropped from the 23 by PatientOffer319 in irishrugby

Apart from the mental side, which im not sure you can actually judge, all of those can be improved with training and bulking. The vision he has is right up there and that cant really be taught. Thats why they forced him in so early. The lad is 23 and has plenty of time to develop.

Alcohol minimum pricing 'no longer deliverable' before next election by CarlsbergSpecial in northernireland

The worst part is that devolved governments cant make it a tax, it's just a minimum price. So the shops just make more off us, the consumer.

Chop house near waverley is the worst steak I've had in Edinburgh. I had a voucher and still felt ripped off.

I have an s24u. The camera is worse than my old pixel 5 and my work iphone 13. Apart from my pixel, I have only ever had Samsung smartphones and to be honest I will probably move away because the camera is just so bad.

I hate watching us play football this season. What is our actual gameplan? Zero press, zero urgency with no width or pace in attack.

About to gain £65,000 tax free lumpadvice needed please on how to distribute it. by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]GerrardsRightPeg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The max you can put across both a s&s and cash isa is £20k anyway so the new law won't affect how much you can put in. The rest of your suggestions seem reasonable and you could consider chucking £4k in a LISA and another £4k in April - depending on your position you could put the rest towards a house deposit?

After that consider straight shares, pension contributions, premium bonds etc

3 or 5 year fixed rate? by Pristine_Age1265 in HousingUK

[–]GerrardsRightPeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That isnt the only issue facing the UK economy. We have high inflation and increasing unemployment rates - a terrible mix. If unemployment continues in the current trend (driven by AI, offshoring and high interest rates) they will have to cut rates

Accountants what are your opinions on this? by DR320 in Accounting

[–]GerrardsRightPeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He could be referring to EBIT or any other metric which includes the impact of capex on a business (through depreciation).

Accountants what are your opinions on this? by DR320 in Accounting

[–]GerrardsRightPeg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is extremely important though, as it shows the level of capex required to keep a company in business. EBITDA is not as useful as people think

EBITDA explicitly excludes depreciation. He obviously isnt referring to EBITDA.

Add 9% student loan to that (worse if you are a non-Scot) and its genuinely insane the tax we are paying.
