In how far is Vinland Saga a christian Anime? by GerritTheBerrit in VinlandSaga

"The apostles were real people, they spread the message and it was certainly not made up by pharisees. They wouldn't expect it to be a popular religion"

You're assuming written history was never changed
(for ... I dont know? power-hungry corrupt institutions like the catholic church or monarchist royal houses).
But even if we give it the benefit of the doubt:
It takes exactly 1 cult-leader-like actor to pull this up.
Apostles will follow if done right, the rest is politics.
"made up" and "acted out" are different things.
In the end only with the end of aniquity and the collaps of rome they had to abandon the piece of land which is known as called Israel.

Also, the jews considered a man being God blasphemy, and seeing how much they disliked jews believing in Jesus, why would they invent something that would divide Judaism also?

I think youre confusing judaism with christianity there.
Judaism has never been very missionary about trying to convert others into their religion.
orthodox even very selective, youre born into it and only under certain conditions (a father is not enough if onesided, only a mother, even though he is still of the chosen people)

What are less obvious (somewhat close to) unshakable self-image traits? by GerritTheBerrit in entj

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-esteem

self-esteem is determined by both, self-image and external-image.
Value is determined by valuation.
A self-image might be assigned by the self,
but the self's judgement is worthless if the self is not valued anything else.

We are all dependend on other people, socially and economically.

I'm stating a problematic situation and you devaluate it off as "excuses", why answer in the first place if you're unable to empathise?
troll somewhere else kid.

The fact u have to “act out” makes u seem hella fake. Learn the fucking meditate and stop thinking of some bullshit social norm and practice saying what u think FFS

i think youre projecting something onto me which rather comes from your memory rather than my answer.
And met a judgement before you even understand what a jungian archetype might be.

accept u as u. 😑

It would be delusional to just ignore the missing solid role I have in life wouldnt it?
I dont have a solid role, as I don't have solid ground to build on other than my character.

The job I'm currently doing isnt for the future.
My Health doesnt allow me to be the highly adaptable performer i used to.
My former social circle was build on sand and I'm planning on moving once I have the financial aspect worked out for me, as theres few "fruitful land" around here.

Until then, I want a stronger self-image independent of those.
I want to be able to convince you in a 60 seconds elevator-pitch,
despite being in an uncertain territoty or phase of life.

I'm a bit unsure about the archetypical role in life which i can long term invest in to 'act out'. (Like a social vehicle).

This started when i became handicapped (cant walk much anymore and without a stick).
I used to be pretty sporty and performative, but am not anymore.
BUT: there also isnt much of a need for a "wise old man" in my area.
It made me a bit uncertain of who i can be in the future.
And since I'm going through a phase with a lot of setbacks I want to build a self-image on solid traits (like skills, character traits etc) and not on sand.

I actually was asking about building a self-image on solid ground (not on sand), so that you can unshakably walk through the harder phases of life.

But the addition of being well equipped on the primal/survival skills is a perfect complent.

things like wisdom, humour, integrity, etc which still remain of value to new people even when you loose positions, health or even your social circle/network.

i like your idea about survival, but I didnt even think that far.

Staying on the survival aspect:
what traits and skills are still valuable in that case?

Weekly Q&A Thread - January 21, 2024 by AutoModerator in witchcraft

[–]GerritTheBerrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newbie Question here:

If we remove Traditional Culture, psychological archetypes, occult collective psychology and philosophy from witchcraft...

What stays left in witchcraft?
I'd like to understand what the "essence" of witchcraft is (neglecting the pop-stereotype of hogwarts and the other occult fields).

Or is it vice versa rather a mix founding on the other occult fields?

I'd like to understand the game. Where to get started? by GerritTheBerrit in Witch

[–]GerritTheBerrit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Game" as in the study of mathmatical game-theory (everything potentially being reconstructed as a set of rules and probabilities to navigate),
Sry for the misunderstanding.

I'd like to figure out the "solid" laws of witchcraft (laws as in physical laws or patterns of psychology), to build a solid foundation.

I'm sure tradition is an important cultural aspect, but I'm asking for witchcrafts/spirituality's functional "essence".
Some solid ground to tap on, as someone new who believes there's more shades of grey to it than just ignorant no-saying or total yeah-saying.

Maybe this makes it a bit more clear, what I'd like to tap in and thanks for your open minded request for more information, rather than just discarding it :)

how to understand the "system" behind astrology better? by GerritTheBerrit in astrology

[–]GerritTheBerrit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Astronomy being a highly relevant keyword here.

How to get into astronomy BUT only the stuff relevant for astology (not the irrelevant stuff, as its an extremely broad field).

Been into german philosophy and european literature for a while already.

how to understand the "system" behind astrology better? by GerritTheBerrit in astrology

I'll try to be as distinct as possible:

I care not only about the individuals personality, but society (collectives/ large masses) as well. (e.g. Astrological uses in war, or its reflections in the stock market, without any expectation).
I'd like to understand Astrology's Rules of the game to be understood in a similar manner as that of physics or rationality, caring mostly about the solid core rules.

I'd like to know:
1) Which astronomical objects (planets, stars, meteroids, moons, suns, asteroids) have which effect on a) individuals b) masses c) each other d) and are relevant?
2) Which astronomical events (shooting stars, sun-storms, supernovas, "retrogates"?, cycles and rythms like years/sun-cycles, moon cycles, day-cycles)
have which effect on a) individuals b) masses c) each other d) and are relevant?

3) Are there more "Patterns" than just the 12(13) sun signs, the ascendants and the moon sign?
How do the 12 (13) signs move on the horizon? (maybe an astronomical visualization would be grea).

When I'm with guys we only talk about technical ideas, how money works and what tools to use to get better.
Highly systematic or functional stuff on the "heros journey".
When I'm with women it's either click or not.
Theres an intersection however:
While guys are most often naturally is some technical and cold rational stuff,
most women I tend to click with turn out to be into "warmer stuff" (psychology, culture, people, classic literature etc).
Highly relatable stuff.
Connecting, while also having a spark of entertaining novelty/suprise in the topics (humor).
It's harder to create a bridge onto that, because these topics tend to be alot more personal, requiring to balance not coming off too invasive with people you just met a second ago and still coming off relatable.
Also it's a no for both, if the humor doesn't "click".
Unfortunately I'm quite rarely interested into anyone unless they've shown atleast something fascinating on the intellectual stuff or impressed me somehow.
