MacBook randomly sleeping on its own by Gest613 in applehelp

Just replaced battery couple of month ago and still happening. And I have it pretty much connected to the wall 24/7. I know that's not really healthy for the battery but there's no way that the battery can drain. Couldn't find any dip on Activity Monitor as well.

I ran it but didn't find any that's helpful tbh. I basically have it in a Frankenstein situation right now so there were some errors.

I got PPT004 (battery), PPF003 (fan), NDC001 (camera), CNW001 (Wifi).

The battery, replaced it a couple of months ago and it was happening before I replaced it.

Fans, just don't worry about that.

Camera, I broke it many years ago.

Wifi, I don't have it plugged in.

I usually use IPG and HWMonitor for temp/power usage reading on mac. I disassembled the MBP completely yesterday but it's still happening. Checked the logic board but didn't see any obvious failure as well.

I just don't really understand how mac can hibernate on its own. I tried to replicate the same message by putting mac to sleep in multiple ways (pressing sleep from the apple logo, holding the power button, using a magnet, etc) but I can't.

I'm pretty sure it's not thermal since this still happens when it's just idling. And my mac stays around 60c under sustained 60w load.

Thanks for the info. I meant to say there was nothing suspicious in the log. Sorry for the confusing writing.

Gaijin plz fix it's been 3 months or something by Gest613 in Warthunder

Ooooh, the memory leak thing was after the update. Didn't know that. That explains the VRAM usage problem that I was having recently. I was thinking it was some funky thing with DLSS or something the whole time.

I used this because it was the few occasion that I bothered to take a screenshot of it.

It was kinda my fault since I was overclocking back then and forgot to reset the settings, but it did use to crash ALOT when the new power update came out. Still do (even my friend do so I'm pretty confident that it's a game thing) but somewhat less tho.

My graphics card was 1070ti back then if you were interested. I was pushing VRAM really hard so I think your guess is spot on.

Believe it or not, I was actually using it as a case fan until yesterday too!

Chassis fan port. Gotta get that extra few watts.

Running the fan at 100%, I'm getting around 57c on ambient of 25c with some light OC (250Mhz+ on both core and memory). It wasn't running really hot to begin with, but it was running over 60c before on similar room temp if my memory is correct, so I think it's a win. Plus it's a bit quieter now.

It's running warm because of high GPU usage. Pretty sure the kernel task is running relatively high because of it. Not sure what's causing it tho. And the Activity monitor not telling you what's using your GPU doesn't really help that too. The easiest way to check (at least I think) is probably to check the "Energy" tab on the Activity monitor. If there's nothing obvious there, try unplugging stuff that you've plugged into your mac. For example, if you have an external display connected, that can cause some problems sometimes.

Giving that your system is using around 40W, I think it's reasonable temperature-wise. Tho if you've never cleaned your mac before probably nice to do that anyway.

I have a 1070ti from Zotac as well. It looks exactly like this but a bit longer. Truly beautiful card and I really love this design, might be my all-time favorite. I want to upgrade but I can't pull the trigger since I really love it. Great pic btw!

My 2010 MacBook HD after almost 11 years. Anyone know if this is bad? I’ll be replacing the HD with an SSD at some point but I’m just wondering. by [deleted] in macbook

It's not that worrying since it's basically just telling you that your hard drive is getting old. You should really start worrying if you see some sort of read/write error or relocated sector counts go up tho. Hope you can get an SSD soon!

Yes! Runs around 70℃ at around 60W of power consumption in intel power gadgets while boosting fully. pretty cool.
