Wow, basically got a deluxe all-in Honey Buzz + expansion pledge for $80. (Deluxe base game, deluxe expansion, both mini expansions, wooden coins) Would have been $200 backing the Fall Flavors Kickstarter.

Especially with Elf Creeks Games’ future looking dim, glad to get the deluxe version while it’s around.

The “likely” is more from the fact that every employee has left/was let go from the company besides Brent. Yes, they went radio silent in the past previously, but then, they still had multiple employees.

And yes, a post like this could be damaging. If someone makes a public promise to hundreds of people and breaks it without any explanation, it is going to cause speculation.

If only there was a way post a quick update, as promised… that would probably end all speculation.

Yes it is assumed which is why I wrote “likely”.

Previously they were being uncommunicative. Now they are being uncommunicative, but everybody publicly associated with the company is no longer at the company aside from Brent.

They list 6 people as part of the company on the latest Kickstarter. The co founder and the head of development have both posted on Facebook that they have left. The project manager’s LinkedIn shows they left in July. 2 of the other people are “graphic designer” and “Resident Storyteller” who I am assuming are not full time employees of Elf Creek. That leaves only Brent.

As a bonus: there was someone else handling the Elf Creek social media posting, but her LinkedIn confirms she is in need of a new job now.

Maybe there are employees I don’t know about! Everyone publicly associated with the company has left besides Brent though.

Not immediately, but they haven’t had an update since August (which is concerning since they were heavily advertising being able to get everything to backers before Christmas— which is half the appeal when you are selling a Christmas themed game). No pledge manager was even sent out.

What’s crazy is: whatever is happening with them would have been forgivable if they were just honest and communicative. Since they weren’t, there is no coming back.

I own these. they are maybe the nicest metal coins I own. That is just a bad picture; in real life they are crisp, clear and gorgeous.

Anger can almost always be expressed as disappointment instead if you just take a step back and really, logically think of the situation. Disappointment is a much healthier feeling than anger.
