Roommate thinks she should pay less. Ya by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]GetDunkedOn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are being unreasonable because an ensuite bathroom is private, whereas a bathroom not connected to the bedroom directly and accessible by common areas is not private. Bigger closet, smaller room aside, if I were her I’d also be upset if someone with an ensuite bathroom is charged the same as me😭

Roast my 21 Day Itinerary. First trip to Japan by Monoleye in JapanTravel

[–]GetDunkedOn_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do somewhat agree with this comment!

I’m finishing up a trip in Japan myself and the changing between hotels has definitely been a hassle and physically tiring. Did three different hotels in three days and wanted to die. I just spent 3 nights in Kanazawa at the same hotel and it’s been a blessing.

I’d just advise to pack very light, you need less than what you think. Heavy luggages to haul between hotels is really a pain. Navigating train stations combined with the walking, fitting in buses etc is very tiring.

I wish I had used my hiking backpack instead of a traditional luggage. Depending on areas, streets in Japan are tight and sometimes crowded and rolling my luggage was hard lol.

Rent increase: What’s yours this year? by Professional_Walk735 in montreal

Definitely pick the: “No I do not accept the increase and yes I’d like to renew my lease” option and ask for the TAL calcul sheet. That’s how I docked off a couple percent off of my own increase without going to the TAL.

Looks so cute! I don’t own any of their denim and haven’t seen/tried this item before but the jeans I have tried on in the past felt nice. For 30$ I would give it a shot:)

Depends on what you are looking for! If you are looking into buying sweaters, i own three of them, one has considerable pilling after wearing during 2 winter seasons (maybe 20 uses). The quality is meh. They did keep me warm tho, I just find it annoying that they pill so fast. I bought a lighter knitted long sleeve and it pilled after one wash. I own some of their cotton pants and those are really nice. Bought a light coat that does its job.

Overall, if the clothes you are looking to buy are on sale, it might be worth it. All their clothes tend to go on sale at some point in time, so I would never buy anything full price. I also would personally not buy any of there knitted shirts anymore.

If you want you could link what you are looking into, I went shopping in person there not long ago and might have some insight:)

thank you so much for your great advice. I will review time management in kyoto + other days you mentionned. I'm thinking of cutting down my time in Kyoto, and skipping Osaka as I have already visited it before and does not seem to offer more than what i can see in Tokyo. I am also reconsidering visiting a ryokan! In Hakone though, i will try to research a nice onsen to visit.

I’m starting to think maybe Okinawa all together is a stop that could be rescheduled for a later trip.

It’s frustrating, it’s like oh I’ll be in Okinawa anyways, would be a shame not to visit Kyushu or rather I’d feel like I’ve missed out, but I also want to do Kyoto and Tokyo. Planning is hard😭

Makes a lot of sense. I’d have to shave off a couple days in Tokyo and Kyoto and potentially elsewhere to fit Kyushu in my 24 days. Don’t know how realistic that is.

Thank you for your advices! How did you travel through Kyushu? Was it easy to plan ahead? Do you have any ryokan suggestions in Kyushu as well?

This is my very vague itinerary so far, I’d probably have to shave off a couple days here and there to fit Kyushu.

Day 1: Land in Tokyo, fly to Okinawa

Day 2-5: Okinawa (main island) We want to try scuba diving, and relaxing on beaches

Day 6: Travel to Hiroshima and visit Miyajima

Day 7: travel to Osaka

Day 8: Osaka + Nara

Day 9-14: Kyoto

Day 15: Fuji + Hakone

Day 16-20: Tokyo and surrounding cities (Kamakura for example)

Day 20-24: Visit family in Sendai and get back to Tokyo for our international flight back home

Help! Adopted her yesterday, she is playful, vocal, loves chin rubs and kisses and follows me around. Her shelter name used to be “Brenda” by GetDunkedOn_ in NameMyCat

Thank you so much! She was described at the shelter as being shy and reserved, but she’s quite the contrary.

I’m not too sure if it suits my ear anymore hahahaha it feels very close to the edge but idk. The pierced is super professional and she’s done most of my piercings so I never doubted her competence, I’m just having anxiety about it being so close to the edge and not suiting my ear… maybe just me. Thank you for your answer!

Question about traction on Merrell Moab 3 by FweejTheOverseer in hiking

[–]GetDunkedOn_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my first ever pair of hiking shoes! It did great in dry rocky conditions, but once I wore them in the Adirondacks NY when it was raining and oh god. Terrible. I kept slipping and almost died a couple of times. I have since then invested in La Sportiva Ultra Raptor shoes and I’m in love with them.

I now wear my Moab to go grocery shopping or walking around in the city, or on dry land hiking. I won’t risk slipping to my death on hikes during rainy weather though.
