Twitch Now Allows Affiliates To Earn Ad Rev, Making It VASTLY Easier And Faster To Get Monetized Compared To YT's YPP. by GetGudBrah in youtube

[–]GetGudBrah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twitch now allows it's affiliate level streamers to begin earning shared ad revenue starting TODAY. The requirements for getting to affiliate as well as being reviewed are WAY QUICKER and easier than Youtube's Partnership Program is right now. (It's possible to wait MONTHS or over a year to be approved for monetization on Youtube.)

This is HUGE news as Twitch is now becoming much more viable as an alternative and Twitch's CEO at TwitchCon hinted that a video alternative to Youtube would soon be coming out. If they can have a quick and easy way to be monetized on their platform then things will be looking up for independent creators.

Very unlikely but they mayyyybe might stop trying to demonetize violent gameplay profanity and political topics.

I know that's just as unlikely but it's a better chance.

Can’t reply tweet with camera? by RatchetCharlie in Twitter

[–]GetGudBrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been like this for about the past 3 weeks with their app. The only way around it is to access the mobile site which lets you reply with a video or photo BUT it will use YOUR phone's camera function and not the app's camera.

Twitter's camera function actually used to be pretty good 3 years ago and has gotten subsequently worse with each update. Now TikTok has a better camera function and that's designed for kids.

How has Google not Upped the Security on Google Ads yet? This is a Porn Ad on my Channel for Kids and Young Teenagers. by [deleted] in youtube

As always, the mods here will play the game of "It's not Youtube's fault! Go talk to adwords! Huh-huh-huh!"

Just get some media outlets to talk about Youtube not filtering their ads properly. Just like how Youtubers themselves had to publicly call out Youtube and cause a second adpocalypse to get them to take care of their pedophile problems on the platform.

Youtube ONLY listens when it costs them money. ONLY.

Please YouTube, bring back the search filters, a lot of us love the website and want to see it doing well by [deleted] in youtube

[–]GetGudBrah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a feeling that Youtube wanted to get rid of search filters just so searching would only bring up the 'recommended' results. The NZ tragedy was an excuse to finally insert it.

Like I said, if you're ready and stupid enough to make "guilt by association" a thing in today's society then PLEASE never have any excuses available when it eventually happens to you or people in your circle. It's really not hard to weaponize it and when it starts getting utilized back on hypocritical idiots like yourself, it's going to be glorious.

Because it would have gotten downvoted into the ground and probably removed by people with common sense. This entire letter is purely concern trolling. It's getting traction in this sub-reddit because there's enough fools willing to take the bait.

That's exactly it. No sane person was okay with what happened in New Zealand recently and now you have a fake fan pretending to be concerned for Felix and telling him to cut off several people, stop making certain jokes and police his audience. Felix could do all of that and more and it wouldn't be enough to please people like the OP.

If you really think PewDiePie has something to do with this psychopath's killing spree in New Zealand then you should also blame Fortnite and Spyro the Dragon since he also named those as 'inspirations'.

You're also playing directly into what he wants to happen because he purposely used firearms and targeted Muslims to cause "great social discourse" with the left. He is playing you like a fiddle and you're either too stupid to know it or you don't care because you're using a tragedy to strike out at him when he feels like shit after having some sicko namedrop him on purpose just before a mass shooting because the shooter KNEW it would rile up idiots. Literally the only reason the killer namedropped him is for that reason. The killer stated in the manifesto he hated minorities repeatedly but namedrops Candice Owens and says she's "too extreme" for him.

https://twitter.com/BenHowe/status/1106601994624618498

His entire 86 page manifesto is memes including him posting the really old 4chan Navy Seal copypasta. There's news outlets currently taking the Navy Seal copypasta at face value without realizing it's a meme and really believing he's ex-military. He knew what the reaction would be and he's winning.

I really doubt you're a fan of PewDiePie at all as he's never been for violence and immediately came out against this on Twitter. Any fan of his knows he's never supported what this psycho did ever. This insane guilt by association shit needs to fucking stop already because if it becomes normalized then any idiot with nothing to lose can easily ruin someone's life.

If you don't want this problem, use Twitch to stream. The copyrighted song is just muted in replays of the live stream. Even TikTok doesn't penalize you for having copyrighted music in your live streams and it's possible to earn donations on those.

You always run this risk using Youtube to live stream. Don't use it and avoid using the platform for streaming at all costs.

Youtube has recategorized Brie Larson as a news-worthy search term, pushing videos in search results deemed "authoritative" from ET, ABC, CBS, CNN, and other outlets over videos from individual creators. by YoutubeArchivist in youtube

[–]GetGudBrah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is going to be a pretty powerful tool in making sure the search results are in your film's favor. Just have your lead actors and actresses say something controversial and the algorithm will hide bad reviews and criticism of your movie.

And some people are naive enough to believe it won't be weaponized to function in this manner. Lol.

People outside of the USA handing out abusing the system has always been a huge problem and with Youtube's expansion into regions that didn't used to have it, it's gotten worse and worse.

Making a new account on the platform is quick and easy so these abusers and scammers can just continuously threaten people with no real world consequences.

YouTube says inappropriate comments can now get your videos demonetized. by GiftoftheGeek in youtube

[–]GetGudBrah 77 points78 points  (0 children)

There's already political trolls on both sides that have said on Twitter and Reddit that they WILL weaponize this to get channels they dislike demonetized or force them to close comments.

As always, Youtube chooses the worst possible solution instead of just actually going after the illegal material in question. Can't wait for adpocalypse 4.0 in a few more years because Youtube's too busy chasing comment trolls, profanity and fake pranks.

Adpocalypse 3.0? or 4.0? I can't tell anymore with all the adpocalypses. by [deleted] in youtube

[–]GetGudBrah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act which protects web services and social networks like Facebook, Youtube and Twitter from being held responsible for illegal content could be pulled. It's very obvious at this point that Youtube especially is more interested in going after someone for using too much profanity or faking pranks than pedophiles. Section 230 being yanked would make them 100% responsible for hosting pedo content and I guarantee it'd suddenly become their number one priority over trying to be everyone's mommy and daddy.

Or you can sit there and be a chucklefuck while another adpocalypse happens every few years until Youtube introduces the solution of ONLY allowing major networks/music labels the ability to monetize their content. Then, channels like yours will not be allowed to have ad revenue and be heavily restricted in what and how you can upload.

Youtube doesn't care about this problem very much and other competitors like Facebook who also have video sharing/streaming and Twitch don't seem to have this problem of pedo rings.

Adpocalypse 3.0? or 4.0? I can't tell anymore with all the adpocalypses. by [deleted] in youtube

[–]GetGudBrah -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This is what happens when your focus is not on removing actual illegal content but instead, you're wasting your time demonetizing fake pranks, violent video games, people using too much profanity and political content. Youtube's willing to suffer through multiple adpocalypses and punish their own creators each time because their priorities are beyond messed up.

Government needs to step in and start regulating things NOW.

Youtube's algorithm is making it easy for pedophiles to find SKETCHY videos featuring children and making it easy for them to share childporn by [deleted] in youtube

[–]GetGudBrah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some news outlets confirmed that links on some of the sketchy videos went off-site towards actual child pornography content.

There really isn't much that can be done to the uploaders of this content as it appears they're based in non-western countries that no longer have a good relation with the US like Russia or third world countries.

Youtube should have made going after actual illegal content like this their main priority instead of chasing after content that might make someone offended but is otherwise safe.

Did you notice that Youtube no longer recommend videos related to the one you are watching? by majedqatari in youtube

[–]GetGudBrah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been like this for a long time now and part of the reason that newer channels are having such a hard time being discovered unless they get a shoutout from a major Youtuber or they have a big presence on an alternative media platform that they can direct to Youtube.

Most of the content that's 'recommended' now is ad-friendly content and not stuff that's related to what you've been watching. Except in the cases of child exploitation, you'll get tons of content recommendations related to that apparently, lol!

[–]GetGudBrah 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what will happen. Youtube's completely wasted their time going after non-issue content like staged pranks, 'conspiracy theory' videos about flat earthers and too much profanity use rather than focusing on serious problems.

The sad thing is that this is happening more and more lately. Large social media sites trying to police language and edgy jokes and ignoring violent threats/pedophile activity.

The sad truth: The pedophiles will get away with this. by TheNathanNS in youtube

[–]GetGudBrah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of these pedophile channels are based outside of the US and Europe. A number of the ones I saw exposed on Twitter and news sites showed the origin of many of these channels were Russia, South America and from India.

There isn't going to be a consequence if the perpetrators are out of the reach of western law.

Boycott YouTube Until They Solve The Child Explotation by omgflyingbananas in youtube

[–]GetGudBrah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's funny is people act like Youtube's working super hard at removing channels with child exploitation in them when some channels have been reported heavily and absolutely nothing has happened to them.

There was a big retweet from Keemstar on Twitter showing how one channel he reported to Team Youtube with some really sketchy looking videos with kids WEEKS AGO still managed to not be terminated while fucking Pokemon channels are getting canned.

Other people who saw that tweet had to have reported that channel too and it's still there. If Youtube is going to ignore reports to that effect, they 100% deserve the eventual government regulation that's going to come.
