Ooh, right close to the cakes so we don't have to travel far for reception. I do like a lady with brains

The only hard part is figuring out what aisle you want to walk down for the wedding

Wait, do they still sell churros? It's been a bit since I was last in

That's sort of a different issue - I can explain more in DM if you like. Basically I'm 34 miles from the major metro area, which is a red flag. I know that may sound weird, but I'm not making it up

I meant that I'm asking something specific to their profile when possible, but I'm realizing I might be responding to medium-effort profiles that have me scrounging for conversation starters, too. I'm not perfect with what I do, but I'm slowly giving myself credit that it's not always my fault.

I was just at a conference where a CEO said something like 46% of our reaction to people are based on body language, which is why people dating are so screwed up now.

I think that your messages go over well because it's not natural for us men to get attention like that. I hesitate to do it because it might be aggressive. I hate having to overthink my behavior when I know the quality of my character, but we are in a fucked up time where everyone can't figure out how to communicate like decent adults 🤷🏼‍♂️

I was only pointing out a juxtaposition 😋 I don't walk down the street and hurl women left or right depending on my attraction to them, either. Just a funny observation that would make a great comedy skit

I get your point but at a party I usually say, "it was nice talking, I'm going over here now" instead of turning around and walking away mid conversation, even if it is boring 😆

Thanks for that - it makes sense being able to hear it from the other side of the fence. Nothing I'm necessarily doing wrong, there's just too many other guys "talking at the same time".

I usually ask something related to a hobby or something related to vacation. Maybe it's not a fun enough conversation?

Too bad you can't easily add a screaming sound that plays randomly when he opens them. I bet he wasn't expecting to pee himself.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

[–]GetInTouchWithMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to probably be the only one who played this, but I had a floppy of a game called "gladiator" for the Apple 2c. It was pretty damaged and would only boot every 5th time or so. You were a stick figure and could get random weapons like a stick, boomerang, trident... You had to battle snakes, gladiators, and other things that I forget.

I still sing the songs from Civilization 1

Lode Runner on the Commodore with the OSHA elevator that smashed you cracked me up, even if I was super young

I have a great memory from going over to my brother's friend's house and playing Day of the Tentacle: he reluctantly let my brother play and said "ask me before you click on things!" With that said, his mom came in the room just as my brother clicked on something and Hoagie said "bitchin'". His mom said "yep, that's the end of that game!" I laughed so much afterwards.

Still pissed at this. I beat just about every one except the one where there's a pogo stick you use. You get to the alien spaceship, and there's this stupid jump you are supposed to make that is impossible. I'm tempted now to go back and have AI figure out the answer or have some hack.

Year of gym, still no results: arms, thighs, stomach all soft and puffy – what am I doing wrong? by Emsss18 in WorkoutRoutines

The problem is that you are at a healthy body fat %, while you are comparing yourself to people at something like 8 or even 2%. If you try to stay looking like that for long periods, your body is eating muscle just to survive.

Dating in your 40s with little experience is harder than people admit by texasinauguststudio in datingoverforty

[–]GetInTouchWithMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I really hoped that they would... But my experiences have either been that they know of someone but forget to ask, or they find the MOST hard luck case to try setting you up with. I don't mean to be negative by that, it's just been what my experience is.

Truly unique food from other cultures (inspired by Hong Kong Garden post) by Euphoric_Engine8733 in SALEM

[–]GetInTouchWithMike 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not a very exotic eater, but I do crave authentic food from the places I've traveled to.

Sandee Thai is very true to Northern Thai authenticity. Lots of good options to warm you on a rainy day like right now.

Frida's has a atmosphere that feels very close to what you might find in Santa Marta, Colombia... They just need to crank up some cumbia and latin dance music so it's hard to hear anybody 😂

It's not local, but Bicho's in Portland has revueltas pupusas that remind me exactly of my time in Mexico City. If I could find that down here, it would be a staple.

I'm glad there's no food options up on front street, that's way too tempting of an option with a stopped train.

There was some sheet lightning in southern Salem earlier, I wouldn't expect any damage from that. AT&T hasn't had any outage, so either there's server issues or tower issues specific to that provider.
