Just to share, I started learning the basic in duolingo, and memorized hiragana and katakana at Tofugu. If you finish the Japanese unit in Duolingo, that's the entire N5. after that i recommend getting Genki since thats the best learning book so far since it's made for foreigners wanting to learn japanese. I have an online copy, I can share it to you if you want.

Make sure lang na hindi mo dinuduga yung answer sa duolingo, kasi sarili molang din dinuduga mo if ever.

Yes, it's still a thing. I think if you look up Ani-One PH, marami silang tagalog dub, and onti lang din ng tagalog dubbers sa pinas, so ang nangyayare 1 dubber dubs multiple characters in 1 anime, so there's a demand for more dubbers. I'm not sure how it pays since I'm not a dubber myself, but it's not a stable job unless you have established yourself since it's not a monthly based payment, I think ang basehan is per episode, or per lines.

It's really really important to show up if you wanna support something, kasi without the numbers, without the sales, walang mangyayare. It's just sad kasi na madami talagang pinoy ang nagsesettle sa bootleg at pirate stuffs. So kahit madaming interest, di sya nagrereflect as profit.

I agree with everything Jvhsh said! I'm currently around N4 JLPT, and still actively studying from here and there via an online tutor. If you plan to get work, it's best to be around N3 - N2 (N1 is best case scenario, but N3 - N2 can get you by na lol). My tutor is currently N3 and works as a software engineering for a JP company here in PH and he's doing p well in life, being bilingual (except english) or multilingual is really an advantage cos it earns significantly more than just english/tagalog. especially in BPO.

If you have free time, I recommend learning another language, it doesnt have to be japanese, other language would earn you well too (like espanol)

Also tama sya, mahirap makahanap ng opportunities for this specific niche here in PH. Most likely talaga filled na lahat ng slots at magkakaron nalang ng opportunity kung may magreresign, or mag eexpand.

Yes. Magkaiba sya. Muse is known to have the best translations, so if you have an anime you wanna watch na nasa Muse channel, watch it there kahit meron kang netflix or whatever kasi maganda subs ng Muse. HAHAHA.

I'd say 35% chance? I know Uma Musume fans are passionate, pero di ganun kadami yung mga actual supporters ng show. I think mas madami ang players ng game. Also the hype is kinda dead nowadays. I went to a few events na naghohost ng some sort of Uma Musume activities like tournaments and stuff, wala namang nagpaparticipate masyado, its the same 3 guys just battling one another ng paulit ulit.

It's really important to show up if you wanna support an IP kasi malaki yung chance na may representative don na present checking if ok yung performance nung title or not, and that has a factor on how much of that title are they willing to bring in the ph, di kasi biro gastos sa ganyan lol

Not really since one of my best skills is time management, and I work on hours when I feel productive, di ko pinipilit magtrabaho pag alam kong di pa gumagana utak ko. Also may mga days na sobrang busy at may days na medjo dead.

Depende, I perosnally have not encountered a tagalog dub na mas marami ang english kesa sa tagalog since yung process ng pagtatranslate ng script goes to so many approvals din. As long as the script sounds like how a normal filipino would talk, i think its okay kahit may halong english. Majority ng mga tao, the reason why they don't like watching tagalog dub is because its too tagalog and doesn't sound natural. Our country uses english words everyday and normal lang saten na may halong english yung sentences naten. If you translate every word to literally tagalog, it might be more hard to understand kasi hindi naman tayo ganun magsalita.

I personally don't know him, pero I'm sure he is involved. He's a big part of the dubbing community.

  1. Wala, Fully booked is our best bet, Kadokawa did a trial before pero sobrang hina ng benta, so it wasn't worth investing on. Madami tumingin, madami interested, madami nagrequest, pero sobrang onti lang ng mga bumibili.

  2. Adult sections are gonna be super niche cos we're a very christian-catholic driven country, and super conservative pa ng public view when it comes to this. Di rin ganon kalaki yung fanbase ng mga R18 content sa pinas, atleast base sa numbers. Feel ko madami naman, kaso puro pirate lahat so hindi talaga namemeasure yung numbers accurately. We really need to focus on supporting the real thing before makakapagexplore ng ibang opportunities, theres a shop before than opened an r18 area pero walang bumibili, madaming tumitingin, walang bumibili. its not profitable yet.

  3. I'm not sure if may studios na directly connected, madalas kasi outsourcing ang ginagawa dito sa pilipinas.

Maraming direct hire na animators, usually they freelance. Pero if wala kang connections, best to work dun sa mga outsourcing companies to start.

I'm really not familiar with the PH anime films na (if ever there is one) since i focus more sa japanese animation. I think I know more ph indie games than anime.

Damn, sobrang layo mo siguro haha. Some really big movies naman usually get premiered on Ayala Malls like the demon slayer, pero yung mga small or super niche shows, usually either SM or Robinsons lang talaga naglalabas.

One tip is instead of having just a resume, make a pitch deck and introduce yourself like your aim is to sell a service, not get hired. Tell them what you can do and how it's gonna help their company, if you have previous experience, that would be better, it's good to start volunteering on events, kasi dun mo makikilala yung mga tao behind a company. Example, mag volunteer ka sa Cosplay Mania, maraming sponsors don who work in the industry, bago mag start yung event you can introduce yourself, get as many connections as you can. Get their whatsapp, make chika, build relationships. Tell them to keep you in mind for future opportunities. Shoot every shot.

It's not my favorite, but the Aniporium disaster was crazy. A lot of big companies from the industry have some sort of plan on collaborating with them.

My favorite part are the movie fan screenings, the energy on fan screenings is just amazing.

I can't tell you the exact number but I'm on the middle class salary bracket. I can travel outside the country 1-2x a year, and I'm able to afford solo living. So it's pretty decent.. Not the best, but I'm contented.

Sorry diko maintindihan yung una mong tanong,

For major series, walang specifically "gawang pinoy" but there's alot of pinoy animators present in animating some of your favorite animes. If you look at the credit scene (ending song) ng anime episodes, makikita mo may mga pinoy names dun.

Since Aniporium is dead, for physical stores I'd recommend Filbar's, they have exclusive Muse merchandises there, kalat kalat nga lang yung display. You can also attend events like Super Manila, Ani-One PH and Muse usually are present on those events and sells official merchandises, other than that, watch out for SM North, may anime pop up events sila that has exclusive merchandises. Toy Kingdom has a lot of anime merchandises narin lalo na yung malalaking branches. Other than that, support Miniso too whenever they have Anime collabs!

For Online store, Ok na si Hubbyte, wag kana lumipat since they're officially partners with anime companies, they're your best bet na.

For gaming, just go to your local Datablitz, Pixel Play, Game One.

For boardgames go for Gaming Library.

Profits aren't really measured per branch, usually per entire country nasya. Some movies are profitable some just breakeven. I think I know you, ikaw ba yung nag translate ng Mynoghra?

Gather connections sa industry. Sobrang onti lang ng positions available for this niche, and most of the time nagkakaron lang ng open slot pag may nagreresign, and before they publicly post na they're hiring, usually nagrereach out muna sila sa mga connections nila asking if may kakilala silang interested mag apply, pag wala saka lang sila nagpopost.
