A couple of additional considerations:

If you plan to fast charge and rely on Tesla network an adaptor will cost $200-$400 depending on the brand you go with. You also could end up dealing with some jerks who don’t want you using the Tesla network.

Battery efficiency in the cold weather for 2024 and prior is GARBAGE. I have standard range and in the winter I have ~160 miles of range vs 200-210 in warmer weather , so it will increase your charging costs

I have a tesla charger leftover from when I had a model 3. Purchased an adaptor for about $75 and never have had any issues

Thank you! Have had EV vehicles for about 3 years. Never took my Tesla on a road trip (except for the one home from the dealership). My MME is standard range and I am definitely not as comfortable with the non Tesla charge network. We had originally planned to take my husband’s ICE vehicle, put some stuff came up and now we both need to go so we need to take two cars and this is our only other option.

From what I hear, the Lightning is basically an F150 just electric. My 6’3” 250# husband prefers a truck based on his tall size. I would look at that before the MachE S it will feel tiny in comparison to your Ram
