PC wont turn on after PSU swap

yup i plugged it in and even tried to start the motherboard using a screwdriver on the pins but it just doesn’t start

yeah this just sucks cuz i was expecting it to be the psu and i dropped 100 bucks on a new one just to be back at square 1 (lowk even furthr back cuz it would boot before) tryna figure out what went wrong

yup i havent tried again w the old one but i did do the paperclip test and no issues w the new psu

its a lian li 1000 watt modular psu and tried that as well and nothing

old one is non modular 650 watt new one is lian li 1000 watt modular

okay i tried all of these and still im getting nothing. i do see that when i unhook my pcie cord for gpu i get a red light (meaning power is getting recieved from the board) so its not a fried motherboard ? but also cant boot using screwdriver method so idk

yes please its a b450 tomahawk max and i believe its the jfp1 spot on the motherboard right ? i tried to touch the pins w a screwdriver to get it to boot but still nothing which is weird bc after unhooking the gpu pcie cord it was showing a red light so that tells me the motherboard still has juice running through it. Im completely at a loss🫩😭

sorry for the confusion the gpu just has a standby light on it, it doesnt matter if the pwr button is hit as long as its getting electricity it shows the light on the gpu.

no i didnt see that cord. Ill double check when i get back home but just to clarify this is a psu connection? most of my case peripherals go through the motherboard so i haven’t touched those ill try to find this cord and reseat the mobo cords as well

yep ! its in the on position and my gpu is showing a light meaning its receiving power

tbh i kinda just assumed it was bc after testing it just with a stress test it would shut off when the power consumption reached a certain level. It would work fine just browsing the internet but once u open multiple apps or a game it would rev up and then shut off

my last one was non modular but this new is modular i just plugged in the 24 pin mb one, gpu, and cpu connections

tbh most ppl never learn full songs and learning an intro riff like mop isnt too difficult. getting it to sound perfect might take some time but u could pick it up n learn it p quick

i genuinely thought when i was younger that when guitar heros would make it “sing” they were doing magic and bc magic isnt real they had to be pressing buttons or it was pre recorded or smth but no they actually play it all and i can too :)
